[up]I think Jack is too obvious. I believe there will be a twist where he is actually a more heroic character while the mother is revealed to be the vilainous one.

I've actually recently seen a theory that Kate's mother actually killed her dad before the invasion began (and that's why Kate couldn't find either of them for that little bit). I'll add that all the destruction conveniently ensured the body would be too damaged (if there's even anything left of it) for anyone to notice what she did.

So yeah, it could easily be Kate's mom.

The other possibility is that BOTH of Jacques and Eleanor are pulling separate schemes and using each other. Presumably only one killed Armand but its possible there's more than one agenda in play here.

I'm sold on the idea Jacques might be a Red Herring bad guy, and they're playing on viewers' familiarity with Tony Dalton being primarily through Lalo Salamanca.

[up][up][up] Yeah, there's also the question of who hired the tracksuit mafia to rob the auction. It was clearly a targeted attack and not some blind smash-and-grab operation

It's clear they don't really know who they are dealing with when it comes to Kate Bishop, and even if there is an intermediary involved it's probably easier to rationalize it being Jack then Eleanor. Eleanor on the other hand may of killed Armand in a bid to help whatever her scheme is.

...I hope Clint invites Kate to spend Christmas with his family after all of this mess, she's going to need at least one good day.

I'm kind of disappointed, out side of the LARP and mafia segments it didn't have the same comedic tone as the comics run its adapting. Which is probably an unfair standard but gosh the look of this show really had me thinking it would capture that same magic.

Its hard to do the Fraction Hawkeye given the premise is that Hawkeye is a semi-known single loser who cheats on Spider-Woman and lusted after by his college age student.

[up][up][up] I can certainly see why, given Echo was introduced as being raised by Fisk when she debuted in the comics. Plus a possibly unintentional connection in that the auction and the gala happened at the hotel that represented the hotel Fisk owned in season 3 of Daredevil.

On a different note, it actually took Watchmojo's video on the first two episodes to catch the not-so-subtle shade that the Rogers song makes towards the heroes it's immortalizing.

Doesn't Clint's Ronin sword also double as a bow? I could have sword it did, since he clearly has his bow again during both his struggle with Natasha and the final battle of Endgame.

No, it doesn't. He just got a new bow at some point after T'Challa broke his last one.

I'm going to be saying "poor Hawkeye" a lot during this show, aren't I?

Wait a minute...

I could be wrong, but is Kate's apartment the same set they used for Harry and Peter's apartment in Raimi's first Spider-Man film? I really think it might be the same set.

I made it up to the point when it was shown that Clint turned off his hearing aid and could not hear it.

I enjoyed the first two episodes.

I really like Kate a lot. And am interested to see her development. I like that she's pretty insulated due to her families wealth, which her mother spells out pretty blatantly in the first episode. Although I'm not sure how much that's going to factor into things going forward. Since it's only come up briefly so far, her inexperience seemed to be having more focus.

I'm also really liking Clint a lot. In terms of scale I'm probably the most excited for this out of the four shows so far, aside from Wandavision.

The only thing I really had issue with was the LARP scene. I get that it's for the sake of the scene happening, but it stretches my suspension of disbelief a bit that him bringing up the suit being stolen and them recognizing him isn't enough for them to let him speak to the guy. Speaking of, that guy probably should have lost his job for that. Surely stealing from a fire/crime scene is a big no-no?

My only other issue was the secondhand embarrassment of people noticing Clint and Kate meeting him in her apartment.

It took me over 3 hours to get though the second episode because I just kept pausing it and could not continue. The last show to get me like this was Stargirl in the reveal to Courtney's mother.

But I'm really looking forward to next week.

I find it funny that the MCU show with the strongest start this year is Hawkeye, the show that people were the least hyped for.

I think that this show does genuinely benefit from being less "ambitious" than any of the other new Disney+ shows. It isn't introducing or dealing with any particularly deep concepts - just a buddy show with the two Hawkeyes.

Yeah, if we keep having this many shows and movies, some of them have to be lower stakes. Thus far, Hawkeye seems to be doing that fine.

I liked the nod to Kate's aunt being Moira Brandon, a little old lady who ended up being a posthumous Avenger.

I found it the most interesting, due to its focus on Kate's backstory, the musical segment, and its more to-the-point pacing
