It is my most anticipated MCU show out for 2021, I loved the Fraction run. Can't wait for next week.
You and I remember Budapest very differentlyI'm wondering how true to the run they're going to be. Like are we going to see a newspaper headline "Everything Terrible: oh god somebody do something"?
Personally I am just waiting for the appearance of Lucky the Pizza Dog, the very goodest of boys.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."A clip has been released. Doesn't reveal a lot plot wise but an insight into the tone and it looks like our leads have some appropriately snappy conversations.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."She's got a point Clint. Superheroes have recognizable costumes, distinctive looks.
You on the other hand do not.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Don't think he ever was an official Superhero in the MCU. He was a SHIELD agent.

That's actually a good point. Did he "retire" before or after the whole Hydra debacle? He (unlike Widow) wasn't part of TWS where it was revealed but he could conceivably have just been doing another mission.
It would have been interesting to see where he landed on the whole Project Farsight debate..
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."Hawkeye didn't retire till after Age of Ultron, which is a year after the whole HYDRA expose thing.
So while he was no longer an agent of SHIELD (as SHIELD was no longer a thing), he was still an Avenger.

thank you. Presumably this means he's "off the clock" in this series so we probably won't see other Avengers popping up.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."That's my impression as well.
Officially retired or not, he probably could call some people if things truly get out of hand, but he wants to handle the problem as quietly and as quickly as possible since all he really wants to do is get home to his family in time for Christmas.
Not currently betting on any other Avengers cameos, but there's still a lot we haven't seen. We know Yelena Belova will be involved but she's been absent from the previews. Echo will probably also be a fairly substantial character since this is all they have to sell people on her series (and this role may have sold Marvel on the series in the first place) but she's only been in the previews for a second. So if Doctor Strange shows up for an episode, I'll be surprised but not completely dumbfounded.
I certainly wouldn't rule out cameos from a few other characters but I presume it will be setting up rather than calling back, if that's the right phrasing.
If/when Yelena does show up it will be interesting to see if the Contessa also appears or if she's going to be kept in the background.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."New Hawkeye Spot including a nod to a classic costume.
More clips, this time featuring Mother and Father Bishop.
They are definitely trying not to give away a lot of the plot with these clips.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."Kate’s mother playing a more prominent role is pretty different considering she was absent for most of Kate’s years in the comics (until she became a driving mystery in Thompson’s run) and Dad Bishop was seen with a string of vastly younger girlfriends.
Dalton is playing Swordsman, not Derek Bishop. I don't know if they've said Derek is in the show, though Brian d'Arcy James just sitting in the cast list without a named role yet...
It's gotten something of a Narrowed It Down to the Guy I Recognize "Eleanor is Madame Masque" reaction.
Oh yeah, and meet the tracksuit draculas.

Bro.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I believe Derek Bishop is played by Brian d'arcy James,But in flashbacks only because he's dead.

You and I remember Budapest very differentlyI must admit, I am unreasonably invested in Clint making it home in time for Christmas and will be very disappointed if he doesn't.
Kate can come too if she's not in a position to spend time with her family for whatever reason.
Reviews starting to appear:

Seems like this is much less "important" than Loki or F&TWS but not necessarily as a bad thing. The duo have good chemistry.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."I think that’s pretty much what everyone expected. Hawkeye’s always been a “lower stakes” character, man’s been trying to retire for like 6 years, and at worst Kate’s next appearance can avoid Continuity Lockout with a brief “I’m Hawkeye now too btw”.
Regardless of how it's done specifically, her introduction to the active Avengers (as opposed to just Hawkeye) can easily serve as her introduction to the moviegoing audience.
Reviews are looking positive, I'm not expecting some crazy Earth-threatening plot. Hyped to see how Yelena ties into the plot.
