Given his approval of Stellar Blade and his love Kim Hyung Tae's art, Its not hard to see why he'd like this game so much.

Hmm... That does sound vaguely familiar. Maybe difference was that reactionaries hadn't joined the fray yet so it was just prudes? I hope it really isn't case of memories getting gilded

Either way, while I don't like artstyle of Stellar Blade much, I heard Nikke's writing is actually rather good so that's promising for this game as well to repeat similar thing to Nier.

Two things are true: the people behind the game are working hard to give a good story and experience. And they are complete horndogs.

Yep. Kim Hyung Tai has been a horndog for Decades now. He was the artist behind Magna Carta and Blade and Soul, and he and his wife also did the now ended Destiny Child.

Stellar Blade is the first AAA console game from his Studio, Shift Up. All that money from Destiny Child and Nikke Goddess of Victory alongside Sony's support helped make it from a smaller indie project into a Bigger Budget game.

Them being the devs behind Nikke makes so much sense.

Speaking of horniness, it seems the game punishes you for being too down bad based on the skin you equipped.

Specifically, the Skin Suit, in which you unequip regular outfits, is basically Hard mode.

Kim Hyung Tae himself was the reason Stellar Blade has a demo, not Sony.

Dude really feels like a true old school developer, what with confirming no MTX's outside of Collabs with different studios aside from his own.

I can actually respect creators who are open about their horniness. They don't make excuses or try to bullshit that they aren't.

To clarify this all nonsense about the game.

there have being this bunch of nonsense about devs not letting woman being pretty(translation: fan service) and stellar blade being a a sort of counter culture sticker point and so own. a lot of this is a bunch of nonsense and is more a discussion about fan service but nobody want to use the term because is tricky

Hence why I prefer it when creators are honest about it being fanservice such as the Vanillaware devs.

Playing the demo, wow this really is like Nier.

And I don't mean that disparagingly, just that it really does wear its influence on its sleeve.

^^Vanillaware also has benefits of both being openly fanservice yet still taking itself seriously.

Like the funny thing about Unicorn Overlord is that while there are lot of sexy fanservice outfits, vast majority of armor are realistic. They don't have everyone wear stupid looking boobplates, they make good character designs that are also rampantly horny

Stellar Blade's initial idea came from The Taxi Driver strikes over being replaced by Self Driving Cars.

The guy who did the Monster design also apparently created the monster from The Host, which is neat.

In a joint interview between Kim Hyung Tae and Yoko Taro at IGN Japan, Yoko Taro admits that Stellar Blade is better then Nier Automata and is jealous of it, while Kim Hyung Tae says Both 2B and Vanessa from P.N. 03 were inspirations for Eve's action style.

I wonder if there's anyplace on the internet where I can find a review of this game that I can actually trust.

Just wait for actual reviews of the game. And don't listen to only one review. View them in aggregate.

They released a music video.

Physical Editions of Stellar Blade in all regions have a reversable cover with one of the main pieces of promotional art, which is also the Vinyl OST cover.

They didn't have to do it, but they went the extra mile and did so anyway.
