After seeing WBD try to make CNN "centrist" aka, try to make rightwing points valid to get a Fox News audience who still doesnt trust them, I am not surprised Zaslav turned to another audience who skews towards authoritarian regimes

The weird thing about "making CNN centrist", is as far as I can recall, CNN was never above pointing out when Democrats were doing something wrong, it's just right-wingers prefer to ignore that.

Going by the mention of mobile games, what they mean is they'll stop making very expensive projects like Suicide Squad and instead make me more cheap phone games that you can milk.
Which they are already doing anyway I might add, so in essence they are just going to make more mobile games.

The sleepiest good boi
Netherrealm kinda has a live-service type model to their games already, albeit one that actually works (fighting games, I find, tend to work well under that model, they're the kind of games that people really like receiving tons of new content for and they're easy to pick up and play a few matches each day), so they might be fine, especially considering Mortal Kombat is the best-selling fighting game franchise in the world with a movie sequel currently in the works. Rocksteady is in a rough state after Suicide Squad, so we'll have to see. Portkey... I dunno. Hogwarts Legacy was successful despite the controversy, so I guess they're probably safe.

Perrette said WBD's recent gaming output has focused on AAA games for console, and that's great when a game like Hogwarts Legacy sells 22 million copies and becomes the best-selling game of the year, but this kind of success is never guaranteed in what Perrette said was a "volatile" market. He pointed out that one of WBD's latest big games, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, was a disappointment for the company.
So the plan going forward, he said, is to help reduce volatility by focusing on core franchises and bringing at least some of them to the mobile and free-to-play space, as well as continuing to invest in live-service games that people play—and spend money on—over a long period of time. This will help WBD generate more consistent revenue, he said, going on to tease that WBD had some new mobile free-to-play games coming this year. Also worth noting is that just because WBD may push into new places, that doesn't necessarily mean it will stop making big single-player AAA games.
"Rather than just launching a one-and-done console game, how do we develop a game around, for example, a Hogwarts Legacy or Harry Potter, that is a live-service where people can live and work and build and play in that world in an ongoing basis?" he said.
Also man suicide squad must be one hell of a bomb for them to outright say it's this bad.

Im sure if the game was forty bucks, maybe the game would have gone better but people are selective on their experiences with the increased price. Be picky or be poor

There’s a hope, this is me being optimistic, that WB will be less controlling with their console/PC games now. If they wanna make mobile games that’s fine those are worthless and easily ignorable.
The hope is that studios will have less heavy restrictions constantly watching over them which might allow some good games to slip by.
It’s like how we got Star Wars Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor under EA/Disney. Sure we got some live-service messes but that meant the greedy eyes were all focused on Battlefront while the games made by Respawn Entertainment suffered less executive meddling.

They said they looking into selling off their IP so pretty much RWBY content is put in the freezer. I say right now preserve the entire rooster teeth channel, their games, basically anything cause rights limbo is gonna happen.
