If anything, I think it's trivia.
i was about to make another post about this before realizing it was already brought up. yeah Homegrown Hero absolutely should be trivia considering Write What You Know is also trivia
Is it trivia? It's something that's inside of the work, and has an effect on the narrative. Though I have to admit, I sometimes have trouble understanding the line between trivia and trope.
trivia is otherwise objective tropes that apply out-of-universe, like related to the writing (Write What You Know, Author Existence Failure, Word of God) and/or the actors (Role Reprise, Doing It for the Art, Money, Dear Boy). in this case it'd be trivia since it's objective, but the character sharing the writer's nationality is an out-of-universe trope.

The trope Homegrown Hero is about how writers tend to add at least one major character from their home country, even if the story is set in another location. Despite this being a completely objective trope, it's also listed as an Audience Reaction for some reason. Can anyone explain why that is the case?
