It's fair to say that "Better on DVD" is a pretty bad name. In addition to the obvious Unintentional Period Piece element, it's also very easy to confuse with Enhanced on DVD, enough so that this seems to have bled down into some of the examples and even the laconic.

From what I can gather from the main page description, the trope is meant to be, effectively, "Better When Binged", but this is contradicted by the laconic:

"The show or movie is best watched on DVD, as its televised version is either edited, the victim of Executive Meddling or it is better to watch the series without breaks."

The examples, though mainly the western animation folder, also include highly episodic shows like The Simpsons, Futurama, Drawn Together, Family Guy, American Dad!, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! or Garth Marenghis Darkplace that seem to be included on the basis of having Bonus Material, not being Edited for Syndication, having additional Too Hot for TV scenes, or even just a decent remaster job.

In short, the current state of this trope is a bit of a mess right now, and it can't quite decide whether or not it's just "watching it all at once really improves the pacing" or "The the DVD versions are legitimately just better".

In short, I think this trope at the very least needs a rename and a general cleaning up and refocusing.

~mariofan1000, we'll need more evidence than what you have given us. Sorry, but the thread will be declined.
