Donald Faison will be playing the Professor[1]
Turk from Scrubs?
Really ?
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I fear this could be a miscast, or maybe we'll be surprised.
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."Huh.
That reminded me that Zach Braff is set to star as the dad in the Cheaper By The Dozen reboot. Maybe they'll both be playing Bumbling Dads?
From the same article, "Powerpuff" is apparently the series' new name.
For anyone wondering, "Drake" is the first name exclusive to Prof. Utonium's counterpart from Powerpuff Girls Z.
I made a guess in the old thread that they could take some aspects from that show, so I guess the crew is aware.
Drake Utonium does have a nice ring to it.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."It's a good name. A strong name. Very intelligent sounding. A name that really stands out and says, "Yes, this is a person of great intellect and wit, who you should listen to and internalize all of the immaculate wisdom flowing out of him."
I approve.
My Tumblr. Currently talking Dragon Ball and working my way back to Danganronpa V3.As played by Turk.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."His girlfriend wasn't the only one with 34 Cs in high school if you know what I'm sayin!
That's an interesting choice, because depending on what age the adult PP Gs are (I'm assuming early 20s) it implies the Professor was quite young, relatively, when he created them.
Would be weird considering the professor seemed to be in his 30s at least in the original series
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."Element X keeps you young.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Faison is 46 going on 47. If Prof U was in his 30s in the original show and this is set 15ish years after it (assuming the girls are in their early 20s), he’s in the right age range.
The more frightening question is if they’ll play him as a suave attractive parent like the Riverdale moms and dads

I would've preferred if his name was Jack Utonium.
It was always my headcanon that Utonium was descended from Jack.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.I think someone in a wmg page even suggested that chemical x was Aku's essence.
That opens the horrific implication that The Girls are literal Daughters of Aku, much like Ashi and her sisters.

True, but another of their ingredients is literally "Everything Nice". This probably counterbalances any corruptive influence that Liquid Aku may have over them.
My Tumblr. Currently talking Dragon Ball and working my way back to Danganronpa V3.Yep, compare the girls to Mojo Jojo or the other apes he mutated with Chemical X who all turned evil and vicious.
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."Speaking of Powerpuff Girls Z, they literally did have an Adaptation Origin Connection like that with Him in that show. IIRC, everyone was infected by Aku's evil - explaining most of their rogues - but some Technobabble or something stopped them from becoming evil as well.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. Why are we discussing a wmg theory in spoilers?
More (serious) casting news:
According to Variety, the pilot has cast Nicholas Podany as Mojo Jojo ['s son, actually].
(Sorry for the earlier confusion.)

What the hell?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Seriously though, why a guy of an age with the three lead actresses? Is this going to be CGI, ie. are they Grodd-ing it it up in here?

I could definitely see Mojo Jojo being believed to be dead or something, and that he ends up being the sort of behind the scenes villain behind whatever big threat originally brings the girls back together.
