It's really sacrilegious there has never been a thread about this title, it's one of those titles that any manga (or simply comicbook) fan must read.
Still, I was initially excited at the idea of a new animated adaptation but... a movie? What can they do with just a movie? The original comic is 31 volumes...
There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give up
I think its odder why the author returns to Slam Dunk, of all titles, now. He's done several basketball themed manga since Slam Dunk, nevermind Vagabond, so why now?
Well, Slam Dunk is easily his most famous and acclaimed work and it has received a reprint just a few years ago (becoming the third best selling manga of that year, all without a cartoon to sponsorize it).
I was hoping for a new animated adaptation that might cover the whole series this time, it really deserves it. Speaking of, it's possible that the movie covers the final match, which was never adapted, but I'd prefer an animated series that covers the entire story.
There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upSomething of a tease of the movie, alongside a release date, December 3.

Wake me up at your own risk.
Well, apparently, there wasn't a thread about this sports manga, and since there was an announcement today, might as well...
A movie will be out, details to come.
Wake me up at your own risk.
