An interesting read that was posted about 6 hours ago about Anycolor and Cover Corp. For the curious, Toyo Keizai is an industry trade magazine that focuses on business, finance, industry and the like. It's also mirrored on Yahoo Finance Jp, but I've heard that some countries block Finance Jp for some reason?

To briefly summarize, the article begins with talking about what a huge success the recent Holo Fes was, with double the number of attendees compared to the last year (and noting the very conspicuous presence of foreign attendees ranging from Asia to the United States). It then draws a comparison with Anycolor's recent financial statement, which led to the stock prices plummeting to the point it triggered the circuit-breaker (i.e. preventing any more trades to be done). This was despite the statement noting that their income was rising, and the article then draws attention to the Niji EN side and how it had a very dramatic drop in Year-over-Year income.

The article briefly mentions the Selen stuff (I think they've begun calling it the "Selen Shock" in Japan? Kind of like Char's Counterattack's "Axis Shock", I'm guessing?), but only in regards to how the overseas fans reacted badly to it and some of the after-effects. It blames the fall in stock prices on how while overall profitable, the EN side which was supposed to be a pillar of expansion was clearly underperforming.

Helpfully, it also includes some stock price comparisons between Cover and Anycolor, pointing out that while Anycolor is more profitable on paper, its stock price is now comparable to Cover's. It concludes by noting that Cover is at the point where it's opening a US-based office (including a quote from President Tanigo about how it's hoped this new office will facilitate more business opportunities).

A couple of things I personally found interesting: 1) the writer's observation that while Holo Fes brought in a lot of money for Cover, Niji Fes wasn't as good for Anycolor because it increased operating costs and 2) in regards to Selen's termination, the writer felt in necessary to provide the word "negligible" in English when explaining how that statement caused backlash overseas.

A comment I liked was someone pointing out that because Cover is pretty up front about reinvesting profits into their talents and technology, there's a clear difference between their 3D performances and those of Anycolor's livers. There was another comment that said that based on their observation, they noticed that Cover's talents seem a lot more close-knit compared to Anycolor's livers, specifically how the senpais try to look out for their kouhais. I think an example of this would be how some of the older members like Suisei and Miko are pushing for people to subscribe to Re_Gloss so they can reach that 3d debut goal faster.

Part of the reason I found those comments interesting is because unlike Yahoo Finance JP's comments page which can descend into the usual social media chaos, this is on that industry trade's page which seemed a lot more controlled.

^ Ooh interesting. Thanks for the read! Though I think the dropping in year-on-year might be partly due to Niji unable to retain Luxiem and Noctyx's explosive launch/initial popularity over time.

^ I'm inclined to agree with you, as I've noticed that Anycolor has a bad habit of failing to capitalise on unexpected successes.

But in fairness to the article, it's being written by a business magazine for the benefit of those in the business and/or finance sector, so it makes sense why the writer wouldn't bring that up. Just look at how for the Selen business, the article basically goes "she was terminated, the use of the word negligible angered overseas fans, expansion overseas has underperformed" rather than go into details that would probably be superfluous to that audience.

I quite like how it stresses that Anycolor is still profitable, but the gap between it and Cover has decreased dramatically for a number of reasons. Especially the implication that because Cover is at the point where they're confident in setting up an actual overseas office while Anycolor's overseas expansion is underperforming, it might be wise to keep an eye on Cover's future over Anycolor's.

Dunno bout that. Someone on a forum said that companies know there is a "reaction" meta which is why Viacom might not be as harsh when it comes to reuploads. But I dunno if that meta was just made up by someone to justify a point or if reuploads not being mass removed is just my youtube being nice.

But I can only guess Viacom beauracracy is still a bitch, and I dont think anyone wants to talk to Nick right now
