The Fatui's actions do have consequences, though? They're basically persona non grata in Inazuma, and while they're still allowed into Liyue, it's noted that they're treated extremely poorly.

Also, keep in mind that Signora was acting on a very personal grudge against Venti when she attacked him for the Anemo Gnosis (compare to her being more "professional" when dealing with Zhongli and the Raiden Shogun). IIRC, the lore for the "Crimson Witch of Flames" Artifact set indicates that she blames the Anemo Archon for failing to attend to Mondstadt during the Cataclysm 500 years ago which killed her lover Rostam, though testimonies by Makoto and Rukkhadevata also indicate that her vendetta is misplaced because almost all the Archons (Venti included) were compelled by Celestia to deal with the epicenter of the Cataclysm at Khaenri'ah (except Rukkhadevata, who was instead tasked with minding Irminsul, then also suffering the second outbreak of King Deshret's forbidden knowledge).

None of the harbingers knowing what the others are doing is stupid. Somebody is clearly calling the shots, likely Pierro if not the Archon. Feels like people switch between the Fatui being a superstrong nation or ragtag misfits depending on if it's a compliment or criticism. But whatever, I'll bite. Lets say the leaders are really bad at oversight...

I mean, no. we already answered this. It seems like Pierro and the Tsaritsa have broad level control but probably don't bother to direct Harbingers day to day actions. It's an impressively bad idea but it's not unprecedented, just look at Imperial Japan- their military had inter-service rivalry so intense that the army and navy would refuse to cooperate and would launch their own independent operations. It's the same concept but done for individual leaders.

The inconsistency is in how the OTHER nations and their people treat the Fatui. You'd think after the first terrorist attack/"act of war" they'd be blacklisted from everywhere besides maybe puppet-controlled Inazuma. And the frustrating thing is that sometimes they are, but then sometimes they're just those whacky foreigners? They still get their bank, hotel, and orphanage and their agents get to blatantly walk the streets like it ain't no thang.

Maybe say this next time lol, you were not clear about what you were talking about. Yes, the response isn't exactly justified very well. That's true.

In regards to consequences for the Fatui: we must also consider that we have at least three cases of people who were considered most wanted criminals in their regions before being given cushy Harbinger titles in the Fatui. It has to count for something when another nations says, "Zandik? That guy who you exiled and wish to arrest because of several counts of murder and unlawful human experimentation? Lol this is Dottore now and you have no case against him because diplomatic immunity. Hey, got any Eleazar patients he can *ahem* cure?"

Remember Mondstadt at least can't kick out the Fatui. They owe them too much money. The same seems to be the case in Liyue, kicking out the Northland Bank in its entirety would be horrible for the economy.

In Sumeru the Fatui don't operate out in the open, except in the Desert which is decentralized anyways. Zandik was working with the Akademiya, so they obviously weren't going to have him arrested.

What complicates things too is the Adventurer's Guild clearly has some ties to Sandrone. The Fatui have strings to pull everywhere, it seems.

IIRC the prequel webcomic, in Mondstadt the Fatui (specifically, Dottore) ran a Monster Protection Racket in exchange for the Knights' begrudging cooperation, specifically through siccing Ursa the Drake onto Mondstadt, forcing Diluc's (and, by adoption, Kaeya's) father Crepus to overclock himself to death with a Delusion trying to defeat it before Dottore somehow took it down for good. It wasn't until their suggestion to kill an Abyss-brainwashed Dvalin was rendered moot that Jean was able to act on her misgivings and marginalize them such that they are forced to rent themselves out to the Lawrence Clan (see Eula's Story Quest) to retain some foothold.

Let us also not forget that, as shown by Viktor and the other NPC fatooeys around the city, for the rank-and-file Fatui Mondstadt is seen as a cushy but dead-end position where you will have to stand around a bunch but never actually do anything. You're there to show the presence of Scheznaya, but not in any way that actually leaves an impression or causes any lasting consequences.

If Mondstadt needed money they should just keep brewing potions lol. I have it on good authority that you can make a killing in a week throwing weeds in a pot.

[up][up] Really funny considering that Signora was the harbinger in charge there

[up][up] The minimum requirement for unlocking the "Alchemical Ascension" event is completing the Mondstadt Archon Quest, hence implying that by that time the Fatui would've been too marginalized to do something about the Knights making money on their own terms, and trying to interfere would be a very bad look.

[up] As for Viktor and the other lower-ranking Fatui in Mondstadt, Signora leaving them to hang is also a pretty Bad Boss moment, merely needing them to present a more benign façade.

Signora left the Chasm team to rot too, to the point where most of them starved to death in the Chasm not knowing what the hell was going on and why the Milileth left them to die.

Well Chiori, I tried but losing the 50/50 to Tighnari meant I couldn't nab you. Guess I'm all in on the Arlecchino train now. Don't try to tempt me C1 Neuvillette and C2 Kazuha!

I guess the silver lining is that I'm at the weapon banner soft pity after failing to get Navia's axe, so maybe I can snag Father's lance without getting my wallet out so my OCD won't scream at me. Still pretty scummy that only it gets the special attack animations. Guess fashion really does have it's price.

[up]They added weapon effects to other weapons she can equip. It's not the full effect of her signature but they're more visible now.

On the subject of her weapon, its story has given us a lot of new Khaenri'ah lore, especially about their royalty. It seems like Arlecchino may not be Fontainian at all, she could be Khaenri'an.

[up] Guess I'll think about it then. I do have a spare Jade Spear lying around. Dozens of great lances in fact but can't get a decent claymore outside of buying the battle pass. sad

Good claymores are in very short supply unless you buy the battle pass, yes. For some reason they tend to be much more niche than the other weapon types, which are often more general use.

I won my 50:50 for Neuvi's C1 and on a lark did a 10-pull on the weapon banner since I had no pity build. Well now I have a Kazoo sword only to realize that mine is ER starved without Xiphos...I guess my Kuki can run it.

Okay, big question time. Among many wonderful things introduced in Fontaine, seals must be among the best. Unfortunately they sometimes "guard" treasure chests and treasure chests contain primogems which are needed for wishing. So, assuming...

Purely hypothetically ofc.

... that one would kill said seals and use spoils from the chest to summon a new character, would that count as an example of "Hoes before bros"?

[up][up]Depends if you're summoning for the bros or the hoes. Could be bros before bros.

[up]Just in time for all the occuli to be available in 4.6.

When it comes to kinky boots, pretty sure Wriothesley takes the cake (in more ways than one).

Neuvillette has the best hair though. Albedo could have had the best hair but then they killed his bangs. sad

You don't need it, but it makes building a team with him so much more flexible.

It removes the need for a shield and loosens up elemental requirements
