Hello everyone! This is the discussion thread for Sands of Vishdar. Use this thread to ask questions, talk about the game, and otherwise publicly discuss things about the RP.

I will have the announcement be in my next major post tomorrow, for those waiting for the actual plot to get started.

I assume that in initiative order we should be posting in initiative order?

Stonedog it's not your turn yet, Ifrit already had her turn.

If I read the order right I was after Safie. Didnt a Safie post just happened. Unless Im wrong, then I will edit my post.

Actually Stonedog is right. The initiative order is Feli -> Guards -> Orphie -> Safie -> Ifrit -> Junpei -> Robed Figures -> David. So Stonedog's posted in the correct order. Ifrit hasn't had a turn yet this round.

Guess I misread then.

I had PM'd Zorua that he should get the opportunity to get another attack since monks get an unarmed strike as a bonus action if they make an attack, though after thinking this over further I realized it's not fair to hold up the entire game waiting for a hypothetical like this. I'm going to post the response now to keep the combat moving but keep that in mind for the future, Zorua.

Okay now that Zorua has gotten back to me I've edited my post to include the bonus strike.

Yes it is, then it's top of the round and back to Wren for a post for Feli.

There are three figures attacking Safie, which one is David attacking? The one that Orphie used Vicious Mockery on, or one of the two unharmed ones? Or did you mean Feli?

Very well, attacking Feli it is.

Also, David can't technically say nothing because ray of frost has verbal components.

For the record you can sneak attack using a ranged attack as long as there are enemies of the target within 5 feet of them. However, you cannot make nonlethal takedowns with ranged weaponry or spells, only melee attacks. You mention in the narration that Feli is looking to incapacitate rather than kill, even if that isn't mentioned in the actual "roll" part of the post. So I'm going to interpret it as you wanting to declare a nonlethal takedown even if it doesn't say that. If I'm wrong please let me know as soon as possible so I can edit my post.

That's totally fine. I'm sorry for the poor wording and forgetting to add it to the 'roll' and making it all confusing for you, non-lethal was how I wanted to go in this instance, yes. >.<

I think I've called Orphie's lyre a "lute" like three times. x-x Whoops.

They're pretty similar and Lute is the more Bard-standard pick but given the setting (and my character name) I picked a more greco-roman set of instrument proficiency and of course went with the most obvious one as the actual starting item.

David has a plan and for that he will need a performer.

Well we have a lyre-player and a dancer, why doesn't he ask them if they will assist?

I had a really long day at work, so I will probably hold off on the next post until tomorrow, sorry to say.

For those of us in the United States, happy Fourth of July weekend! Given the holiday I imagine this weekend is going to be fairly quiet RP wise.

Two points of order:

1) obligatory "do we level up?"

2) I feel like it would be worth it to set up a discord server for the game? It would allow much easier communication, especially for things like asking questions about the scene/character knowledge/etc.
