I was going to post this on wish list but I rather not throttle it with more issues, but I just want to throw this out there.

Consider those Pages That Need X pages, or a discussion about cleanup of Y. That wick could make a notice appear in the relevant page(s) that reads: "This page and its subpages have been marked as needing X. Read relevant administr page/discussion thread". As an appendage, something like a highlighted alternative view of a page could be used to mark progess of what blocks of text have had action Y applied to them. When everything is done, click some button/notify people in charge to have the notice/wick removed. This will incentivize people who frequent pages, for example roleplaying pages editors, to work on them.

Pages could also have little boards on the side that read: "Ongoing discussions pertinent to this page". The motivation of all this is that I feel like these collective efforts are somewhat hidden away from unknowing users who lack cognition of the existence of the forums.

What do you think, is it too weird?

I think that'd actually be helpful, if it isn't too intrusive for readers.

I would recommend a banner that only appears to logged-in users. We used to have one for pages that were in the Trope Repair Shop.
