I find it funny — in a "completely missed the point" kind of way — that they took two sentence horror stories and expanded them into a 20-25 minute show. Because the point of the two sentence horror story is the fact that they are so short, so they pack all the horror into the second sentence. There is no relief from the tension, no understanding of what is happening, just one sentence for set up and one sentence for pay off:
Glad I'm not the only one who thought the whole premise was kind of missing the point.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI wonder if they'll do the quintessential one.
"The last man on Earth sat in a room. There was a knock at the door."
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.And the shorter one:
"The last man on Earth sat in a room. There was a lock on the door."

So this is like Goosebumps, but even more silly?
It's been 3000 years…Eh, it didn't FEEL very silly.
Watching it right now and it seems pretty neat, though the one I saw seems to be relying on camera tricks to play up the horror.
Wow, as a regular poster in that Reddit thread, I was very surprised to see this here.
And yeah, I agree that it's not very well suited for 20 minute long episodes. I think the creators should've picked r/shortscarystories instead.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.New one's going on. A girl's doing a beauty tutorial video but someone’s sneaking in her room.
And she may not be 100% sane herself...?
After watching the first episode, the worst part isn't that they expanded from two sentences to twenty minutes. It's that they still changed the story. As was said above, the mother didn't actually have a child. Yet, the two sentence story was “She was stiff and cold in my arms. And then the doll blinked.” The doll didn't blink. It's arguable that even the first sentence was fulfilled. Not feeling positive about how any other episodes will go.
I gotta say I love the series. Season two’s last episode is pretty good
Also why is there no page on this yet it’s a good series
Scratch my last post I started the page here: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Series/TwoSentenceHorrorStories
2 episodes down, enjoying them so far.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).
It's premiering on The CW tonight.
The idea is that a two sentence horror story gets stretched into a 20 minute escapade of dread and, well, horror.
The first episode had a serial killer targeting single moms...and apparently one target is probably scarier than he is?
The second one is a lady obsessing over what happened to her after an office party got her hung over AF.
Maybe now's a good time as any to post a discussion thread? Second one's scaring me sh*tless...
EDIT: Second one finished. The lady's boss was doing something sh*tty and she retaliated by stuffing tapeworm eggs in his coffee or something.
EDIT 2: Found out what happened in the first one: Turns out she never had a kid, and her so-called child is actually a doll. Also, she killed that serial killer dude.
