As usual, I’m going to suggest you work from the opposite direction.
That setting could be host to literally any number of stories, from a daring tale of wilderness survival to prehistoric geopolitics. Develop your story first, then work on worldbuilding with that story in mind. A few key worldbuilding aspects might shape the story ahead of time, but coming up with a setting completely devoid of story is more for role playing games than literature.

They should have sent a poet.

I have a setting in mind but I kind of wrote myself into a corner without a major conflict in mind. The story here is a world not unlike our own but in place of its usual wildlife are various fictional species of dinosaurs.
Now keep in mind not all of the wildlife is a dinosaur species, some are more contemporary such as big cats, birds, snakes, you get the idea. I am also adding several fantasy creatures to the mix like wyverns, true dragons, a winged octopi, etc.
Some other important details include this being a time before firearms were invented and there are different species of humans located in different regions.
