Come to think of it, if the noble houses actually did show a realistic amount of intermarriages, then the Crests would also be a lot more mixed up rather than each specific crest belonging to a specific house.

Well I'd imagine a lot of the noble houses try and maintain "control" over their Crests to consolidate power.

But then, wouldn't that change the nature of arranged marriages? Then, you would want a combination of heirs some with crests and some without. The latter would be the ones who get used political marriages. Although that would make things really complicated because it would change how political power and house status worked.
It also raises the question of who decides what is a "main" family and what is a "branch" family. Like, if someone has a crest and multiple kids with crests, it would be almost impossible to control the spread of crests. Eventually because of the way genealogy works theoretically after only a few centuries everyone should have a crest blood in the same way everyone with European decent is related to Charlemagne because of the way iso-points work. Theoretically everyone in Fodlan should also be related to Wilhelm but that's another story.

They do mention in Three Hopes that at least in Fearghus all the noble intermarriage means that it's not especially unusual for someone of one family to have a Crest that normally shows up in another, though it's preferred to have a title heir whose Crest matches their noble house.

We also know of Duke Ifan whose House has married royal family members in the past, much like we learned about Riegan and Galatea or Riegan and Blaiyyd have also married in the past. That’s part of how Riegan came to become the Head of the Alliance using their blood ties to Blaiyyd as legitimacy.

- Lysithea only has explicitly romantic endings with men in Three Houses but, in the Japanese version of the game, she calls Leonie her perfect husband in one of their support conversations. Moreover, in Three Hopes she gets very flustered and noticeably blushes when she gets a compliment from female Shez during one of their support conversations.
I looked it up whether this was the case and I couldn't find anything about. The closest I could was a Reddit post that shipped the two. So I want to know if this info is valid.

Don't wanna be a downer but it's been like this from the start. I'll give you however that things have gotten spicier after people played/watched the other routes and Three Hopes gave people more stuff to chew on.
That, and I'm seriously convinced the game just...lives rent-free on people's minds. I feel that's why longtime fans wanted Engage to be a palate cleanser (which it IS, but...). EDIT: I could be totally wrong on this though, but that's how I see it.

Back then, I thought that the transition from Three Houses to Engage wasn't going to be an easy one, especially if you got into the series through Houses.
I guess it didn't matter in the end, but I must have been doing something wrong in the last DLC boss fight. My magic users were all worthless liabilities and my shooters were not much better.

Engage not having people essentially engaging in racism apologia was definitely a palate cleanser.
Though at least Three Houses, as I said before, does a good job getting the nastier fans to reveal their red flags. I’ve certainly learned a few unsavory things about certain posters, which is why I ignore some of them completely now. Those individuals have nothing to contribute in terms of good media analysis anyways, so no big loss.
I also think that the themes that Engage went with for their story was overall stronger than what Three Houses did, which is why I rank Engage above Three Houses in my personal rankings. Admittedly, said themes are pretty much simpler, but in this case simple is just as good.

It's been a while since I did the fight, but I remember the boss being more or less just a big tank in general. So it comes down to not getting attritioned out, which means breaking all his shields, and then just letting the heavy hitters (read: the house Lords and Byleth) work him down while everyone else takes out the adds.

Also, Batallion gambits are your friend. Use them a lot.
When I did it, it helped to reclass Byleth to Priest for extra healing.

I wouldn't say that, but I do try to be well informed on every entry I've played.
Assuming you're talking about New Game+ purchases, late skills from mastering Advanced/Master classes. Some Intermediates, like Hit +20, and Darting or Death Blow are also good early purchases. The Pagon Altar is also somewhere you can get early power gear, regardless of New Game+ or New Game. Rapier+, for example, lets you easily go after the first Death Knight with just about any party setup.

that part always amused me. I always thought that there was full anime cutscenes for every scene.
I mean, Those Who Slither DO have influence in affairs of the church, just not the Central church. What they want most isn't for Adrestia to win, but for war and chaos to consume Fodlan. Edelgard is a particularly valuable piece of their plans but the entire point is for her to weaken the nations of Fodlan and the church. If her coronation goes sideways and kicks off a proxy war that sees everyone overextend themselves killing each other, that's mission accomplished.
