In this setting the gods battled an ancient evil god in a war lasting 1 Millenium. Unknown to them the clashes of their battle reached what would be earth. Humans were created from the small traces of their flesh going into the soil and we grew from it. Eventually while the humans lived on earth unaware of the war above the fighting stopped. They had sealed the evil god within the earths core but had no idea humans were there. They recognized that humanity was born from them and to repay them for sealing the evil god in their home they gifted them a special material called Mana ore which has multiple shapes, states, and uses. Though the evil god was dead his raw essence leaked through the crust and produced monsters. The gods could do nothing for fear of reawakening their old foe so they left it up to humanity to finish what they accidentaly caused.

Ah right, well I was wanting the elemental ore introduced by the gods to have an effect on the people and wildlife. It can be beneficial or detrimental but can't quite decide on what.

Well, could you expand a little upon the elemental ore and its states, forms, and uses, please?

Gladly, the ore is a phlebotinum that takes form naturally in crystals. There are multiple variations that react in different ways. Fire ore for instance is hot to touch and often used as a fuel. We have also created artificial ores. To make a long story short civilization practially depends and revolves around it

I’m still not really sure what you’re asking.

They should have sent a poet.

I'm having trouble deciding side effects from using the ore

Well, I mean, what kind of story are you trying to tell here? Don’t forget that the world serves the story, not the other way around.

They should have sent a poet.

It's a Science Fantasy setting with a mostly idealistic tone. Perhaps we can play up civilizations dependence on it?

Again, this all still depends on what kind of story you’re trying to tell. A story with a moral relating to environmental conservation might take the setting in a very different direction than one with a different moral, and so on.

They should have sent a poet.

Do you have a plot outlined yet? Or any idea what the story will be about?
