Time to make another thread about an upcoming anime and this time it's one of the upcoming Studio Pierrot anime... Yes, you heard that right, Pierrot is making this manga into the anime and it's called Magmel of the Sea Blue or Gunjou no Magmel. For those who don't know the plot is, courtesy of Mangarock:

"One day in the middle of the pacific ocean a miracle occurred, a new continent appeared out of nowhere! The new continent was the home for new & mysterious plants, creatures & minerals!

Humanity is excited as the age of exploration has returned."

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the main characters name in this is named Inyo and he looks like Ryoma Echizen from Prince of Tennis. Forgive me for the sparse synopsis but that's the only thing I found on the internet. But from what I heard, this is one of Yoshihiro Togashi favorite manga and this is not a manhua despite the writer and the illustrator is Chinese which is fine by me. With Pierrot animating it though, I'm rather scared. That and the scanlators didn't bother to give the manga further translations which is saddening. So anyone hyped for this anime or not?

Since Bilibili contributed to the show (Which is as bad as Netflix). Guess I have to wait or figure some way out to watch this show. RIP me :'(

It's a pity. The synopsis actually got me interested in it, as well.

Wont gonna lie that the manga itself from what I heard? Its one of Yoshiro Togashi's favorite. (YES! That Yoshiro Togashi) This is why I'm interested with Gunjou no Magmel. The manga being not scanlated beyond chapter 1 and the anime has Bilibili intervention doesnt help the matters...

Oh well, we'll see what happens in the future.

The licensing with this one is weird. Bilibili, a Chinese streaming service, is listed as a one of the sponsors, and they're known to grab global licenses, so you'd expect that they're the reason this isn't getting subbed... But then you check the Japanese website and see that it's streaming section lists Netflix, and Netflix alone. But that's weird, since it's not at all the sort of thing that Netflix is normally interested in, not really appealing to Western audiences. So I'm not really sure what's going on

Welp I'm late but Episode 1:

Honestly, considered I kind of read the first chapter of the manga. The episode that they start feels rather weird. I don't know if it truly adapted from the manga or not considered the people who scanlate this manga stop the scanlation due to the manga being a pain in the ass to be translated.

But anyways, yeah... Magmel feels kind of an intriguing continent and honestly I can't help but feel pretty bad on the Younger Brother and I have a feeling I have found one of the worst big brothers on media. Inyo feels pretty OP but eh... Anyways, is it me or did I just notice most of the animation are using CGI but yeah. Also, next episode would be the first chapter of the manga

Episode 2:

Yeah, this is literally the first chapter of the manga alright. Considered that the Emilia girl met with Inyo at the first chapter and Inyo tries at his best to save her father. And man, Kare Bears name seems rather interesting though [lol] and its not surprising why the Kare Bears attack Emilia's father research lab at first considered that Emilia's father kidnap their cubs but in the end, he atones for it and also, Inyo manages to defeat the ruler of the Sector 7. And yeah, I didn't recall about the flashbacks about Inyo's acquaintance or something in the manga but I have a feeling its Inyo's father.

Man, I really hope the manga got scanlated and translated already

…I did not even realize this had an anime. I get why it was published in France now. >.>

So after a French manga adaptation recently, we have a Manhua adaptation now… Interesting. I might check it out. The free sample I read was pretty cool.

Makes sense...

Yeah, still waiting for the future chapters translated into English so that I could compare whats missing with the anime or some differences... But some peeps said its going to be a pain in the butt translating it... Yeah ._.

Oh well, only time will tell but we'll see.

Speaking of time, I'm curious on what cour this anime will ends and all. Considered Pierrot special treatment with Black Clover or Naruto or any other shonen animes? Yea...

Oh right... Episode 4 belated:

The episode tells us about the miracle worker/saint named Lady Verena who tried at her best to taking care of the orphan but it was revealed that she wasn't a saint either due to organ trafficking of the Magmel rare creatures... Yeah, we are supposed to hate her but honestly, I feel pity for her even if Inyo has a point though. And man, I can wait to learn more about Inyo's mentor or something like that

Episode 5:

And... It's mostly a gag episode involving the shopkeeper Inyo and Zero visits and speaking of them... Man, they're so unlikable here and I feel this episode is a frigging filler despite the manga isn't translated yet

Episode 6:

Much better than the last episode but at the same time, this episode is kind of sad. This is a flashback about Inyou and his pet and so that's why Inyou ends up becoming that way as the first monster that he killed...Was actually his pet and he ended up learning that in Magmel, it's kill or be killed. So oof...Though it ended up a bit happily but still, that hurts for Inyo.

Episode 7:

Today's episode deals with the native people of Magmel who crashes several of flying vehicles and also the return of Emilia and her daddy. Though it was revealed that the native himself want to leave in peace and yes, marshmallow solves anything :P

Episode 9:

Feel like this is a filler but I don't know. It's mostly about Zero wanting to become an adult in order to impress Inyo. And then we have several guys from previous episodes like the billionaire and the Butt-Monkey shopkeeper owner come back which is nice and still feel bad for the shopkeeper though but oh well. :P

Episode 11:

Shit, this episode is intense as hell. There's Zero backstory about his former master who is awful in every levels and then said master wants to take revenge against Inyou even though he had it coming and yeah, that master guy is truly a prick. Making several innocent people as suicide bombers just to hurt Zero's friends

Episode 12:

Good god I thought Abraham Dawson, Yuuto and La Tremoille are awful people...This villain guy is just as bad if not worse than them. What he did to the children in the research facility are just plain awful to look at same with Zero who is now mentally broken at this point. Hope he got a Karma at the end of the day
