Eh

Hrm

Mrmmn...

I appreciate the effort put in here, Routeferret, and it's nice to also meet someone who's seen that film, but I don't really think the character is a good fit for the setting. For one thing, this isn't a matter of time travel we're talking about. Foteinigi is an entirely different world, where real world continents are mythical and vice versa. It may even be that Earth doesn't exist in the same universe as this planet. Besides which, the whole telekinesis thing seems to come out of nowhere, as does being 131 years old.

I'm very sorry, but I think I'll have to decline this character in his current form. Don't let that discourage you from trying something else, or bringing Raoul into a different game.

Much as I hate double posting, one of the players has brought something up in the chat that I feel is worth pointing out here.

On the subject of Secondary Characters- that is to say, characters introduced to the game after you've already brought in a character -my personal stance is that each player is entitled to one, provided they:

  • Have been in the game for a while, maybe a month or so
  • Have been a fairly regular poster during that time
  • Have refrained from being a dickpiston and been pleasant to play alongside
  • Keep their new secondary character in a separate area of the plot as much as they can. While the first character is in a group going off in one direction, the new character could be in a cast herd going off the other way.

I'd also say not to make a habit of dropping in new characters, or switching your current guys out for more guys. It could get very aggravating, especially if your character has had a lot of world built around them that could now go to waste.

There, that's my two cents, and I intend to put it in the opening post as well. Carry on!

Name: Yellowfang

Franchise: Warrior Cats

Age: Old and grumpy

Race: Fey Cat

Appearance: Here ya go! Alignment: Neutral Good

Class: Cleric

Personality: While Yellowfang can be warm and kind, this side of her is very deeply hidden behind a grumpy and sarcastic interior. She has no patience for self-pity or other nonsense, and will not hesitate to call those who engage in it out on their behavior. She dislikes being around children, partially because she finds them annoying and partly because bad things seem to happen to them if she lets herself get attached.

Skills: Gifted both in traditional herbal medicine and fighting. Her preferred weapon is a staff, which she uses for stick-fighting.

Powers and Abilities: Yellowfang can receive signs and omens from the spirits of deceased cat in the afterlife known as Star Clan. These messages usually foretell the future; however, they’re also not very straightforward, so Yellowfang and her fellow medicine cats can hardly be considered psychics or anything like that.

Additionally, Yellowfang also has the ability to quite literally feel her Clanmates’ pain; however, she’s currently too far from Shadow Clan territory for this ability to kick in unless she bumps into another Shadow Clan member.

Equipment: A large staff, which she uses to aid in her walking (she is very old, after all).

Background: Yellowfang is unusual among medicine cats in that she was originally trained to fight, not heal. However, eventually, she came to the realization that her ability meant she had a different destiny and began training under the then-current medicine cat, Sagewhisker. Yellowfang eventually trained an apprentice of her own, a tom named Runningnose.

Despite the fact that the code of the medicine cat mandates celibacy, Yellowfang found herself falling in love with Shadow Clan’s leader, Raggedstar. Their relationship ended in a bitter split- but not before Yellowfang became pregnant with his kits.

As she was forbidden by the medicine cat code to have a mate or kits, Yellowfang left the camp in secret to give birth. Her litter consisted of three kits. The first, Wishkit, was stillborn, and the second, Hopekit, lived only for a few hours after being born; but the third, Brokenkit, survived.

Brokenkit was raised by Lizardstripe, a rather prickly molly who was already nursing kits of her own. Brokenkit grew to be a strong warrior (Brokentail), and eventually, Raggedstar appointed him deputy- second-in-command.

But Brokentail’s heart was full of dark ambitions. He killed Raggedstar, stripping him of all nine lives at once. Because he was second-in-command, he became the next Clan leader, with nine lives of his own- Brokenstar.

Brokenstar was a ruthless, tyrannical dictator. Despite the fact that the warrior code forbids kits under thirteen years old to be trained, he was sending them into battle as young as six years! Many of them died horrible deaths, fighting opponents much too strong for them- and in fact, when Yellowfang called Brokenstar out after two kits were killed in a training session fighting against him, he framed her for their murders and exiled her from her beloved Shadow Clan. Now she travels alone, trying to survive and find a new Clan to belong to...

Additional Notes: The fey cat race sign-up:

Name: Fey cat. The name “fey”, however, is mostly just to distinguish them from the ordinary Felis catus.

Territories: Two major sects- a group called the Tribe of Rushing Water, who make their home in a cave in Hyperborea; and the four Clans, who reside in a forest outside Gdonya.

Biology: These are talking, bipedal cats with humanlike intelligence. They give birth to litters of one to four, and their young are smaller to make the multiple births simpler. Unlike ordinary cats, they live as long as humans do; however, they do not go through a period of menopause or reduced fertility as they age. They're a bit larger than ordinary cats, standing three feet tall when full grown. As such, they can produce young into their old age with no problems. Their fur may be black, white, gray, brown, ginger, gold/cream, or any combination of the aforementioned shades.

Culture: Will post this in worldbuilding ideas. It should also be noted that many of them resent being mistaken for Yordles.

Oh my giddy aunt, a healer. If only on that basis alone, Imma say Accepted.

Now, everyone else, don't take this as an invitation to all leap onto the second character bandwagon just yet. The main reason I'm permitting this is because there's two separate cast herds with their own plot lines at the moment, and one's got less people in it than the other. As such, I'd advise Spottedleaf to stick Old Yellow over there, and we'll see how it goes for now.

  • Name: Leah Clearwater
  • Franchise: Twilight
  • Age: 22
  • Race: Human
  • Appearance: Her human form. Her wolf form.
  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Class: Shapeshifter
  • Personality: After being dealt one too many shit hands in life, Leah has become rather bitter and jaded. She definitely is a glass half empty sort of person, and assumes the worst in people whenever possible. Whenever someone lives up to those very low standards, she also has a bit of a vindictive streak. If she can cause their lives to be just a little more unpleasant— by bringing up topics they'd rather not think of, for instance— she'll gladly do it. She's also brutally honest, never shying away from telling people how she feels or what she thinks, even if she knows she'll only be dismissed, or be annoying.

Thanks to being hurt in the past, she also has little interest in romance or anything related to it. She hates being flirted with, and she despises seeing happy couples, though she mostly sticks to sharp comments when not being actively bothered by said couples. That's not all there is to Leah, however.

If Leah had to be described with only one word, it would be loyal. Whenever she believes someone she cares about (no matter how annoying they are) is in danger, she will not hesitate to put herself in harm's way to protect them. Her brutal honesty can also be used this way, as she has no reservations about calling someone out when they act selfishly. She has also accepted her role as a protector of the living, and therefore will do the same for anyone in danger.

When not being reminded of her most painful memories, Leah can be incredibly playful and lighthearted. She loves racing people while in her wolf form, just to show off her incredible speed. Also, she has a sharp tongue, and enjoys making snarky comments whenever she can. These can be lighthearted or scathing, depending on her mood. More than anything else, Leah hates vampires. While she may hesitate killing a human or elf or any other race of living people, she has no problems killing vampires, especially when they are threatening the living.

  • Skills:
    • Survival: Leah has spent the past year living on her own, so she's picked up quite a few tricks when it comes to surviving off of the land. She can build fires and shelter out of whatever she finds in the forest, and can hunt very well on her own.
  • Powers and Abilities:
    • Wolf transformation: If sufficiently angry, Leah can turn into a wolf a little bigger than a Shetland pony. While in this form, her teeth and claws can tear through even rock, and her strength is also magnified. She's the fastest wolf in her pack as well, making her hard to even see when she's running at full speed. Her senses are also vastly improved, so she can hear, smell and see incredibly well. Finally, her body can heal itself at a very fast rate.
    • Passive buffs: Most of benefits stay when she's a human, though greatly reduced. She's strong enough to lift a man in full plate armor with little difficulty, and fast enough to outrun a horse.
  • Equipment:
    • Replacement clothes: An entire bag full of clothes for Leah to change into whenever she's torn her last outfit.
  • Background: In Leah's small tribe in Meropis, some men were able to shapeshift into powerful wolves in order to protect their people. Leah's fiance was one such man, and Leah had been proud at first. However, a previously thought rare condition known as imprinting had struck Sam, and he became hopelessly obsessed with Leah's cousin, to the point of mauling her when she refused him too many times.

She then 'realized her love for him' and they became engaged. Leah was the only one who seemed to have a problem with this, and was mocked as being jealous and bitter. Anger started welling up inside her to the point that she eventually shapeshifted as well, leading to her being the first woman to ever shapeshift within her tribe.

Due to the magic that had been awoken, Leah was bound to the nearest alpha, Sam. This, naturally, caused a lot of drama and pain, until another wolf managed to leave and form his own pack, which Leah left to join in the hopes of getting some relief.

Unfortunately, her new alpha also imprinted, and became so obsessed with his own girl, he was willing to abandon his pack to run away with her as they all died as a distraction. The battle didn't actually happen, but Leah lost all faith in her alpha. To make matters worse, one of the younger boys— who was only 13— imprinted on her, and that was the straw that broke the camel's back. Fortunately, her former alpha had to move away to stay with his imprint, which gave Leah enough wiggle room to finally escape.

  • Additional Notes: Because of the overuse of alpha commands from her previous alphas, Leah is very susceptible to any forms of mind altering magic.

  • Name: Sparklepire
  • Territories: None, almost all but a select group are nomadic, said group have a secret compound in the USA.
  • Biology: All sparklepires are filled with a special venom unique to this race. When it mixes with the blood of a living, sentient being, it begins to transform the victim into a sparklepire. This process lasts three days spent in excruciating agony as the venom burns away all of the blood in their body. This process often destroys the mind of the victim, leaving them nothing but an empty husk.

The sparklepires with minds intact find their bodies radically altered. They can't change at all, they no longer age, they cannot grow their hair or fingernails. Their skin has become as hard and unyielding as stone, and sparkles in the sunlight. Their teeth become razor sharp, and their physical abilities are enhanced several times over, allowing them to move at high speeds with great agility, and their senses are much better than the average human’s. Magically speaking, becoming a sparklepire leads to a dramatic increase of power for the one type of magic one would already be good at. They cannot learn other types of magic, nor can they improve past a certain point, so someone who has practiced for years would be much more powerful than a sparklepire.

Like most vampires, sparklepires drink the blood of the living, but not out of any sort of need to survive, but to stay sane. The longer a sparklepire goes without drinking blood, the more their venom burns at their throats. The venom inside of sparklepires essentially takes over every function their previously living body’s had. It moves through them like blood, it lubricates their eyes, their drool becomes venom. This venom is also one of the most flammable liquids known to man, and therefore, one weak fire spell can utterly destroy a sparklepire in very little time. Lastly, it gives off a very powerful, sweet odor that is especially obvious to shapeshifters who are tasked with defending humanity from sparklepires and can track down said vampires even long after they’ve left an area through scent.

Anyone under the age of five who is successfully turned become what the sparklepires call an immortal child. The constant pain of being a sparklepire, along with the enhanced strength and agility, often leads to beings that indiscriminately kill without a thought. Their magic also causes those around them to become infatuated, to the point that anyone not prepared will struggle to even recognize that they are causing destruction, instead only seeing an adorable child.

  • Culture: The leaders of the sparklepires are a coven called the Volturi. Their word is law to the sparklepires, and it is understood that anyone who breaks their rules will be swiftly dealt with. Fortunately, the Volturi’s laws are very simple:

1. Do not let any other races know about your existence.

2. Do not turn children into sparklepires.

Other than that, these vampires are free to roam the world as they wish, killing and eating as they please, which is a lot.

Most sparklepires live either alone, or with a single mate. This is because most sparklepies are near feral, and view others of their kind as competition. They usually stay hidden away from civilization, as they are rarely able to contain their bloodlust, and being around anyone with blood is too tempting.

The few that do live among the living rarely get too close as their true natures would be discovered otherwise. Despite being able to hold back their desire to drain the living dry, the process of becoming a sparklepire inherently robs the victim of their empathy, and they bear no ill-will towards those that do murder.

  • Short History: Where this breed of vampire originated is unknown, but it is likely a mutation upon the more common forms. Since becoming a sparklepire requires some blood to remain in the body, and these vampires are rarely able to hold back from draining a body dry, they are quite rare, and difficult to study.

For centuries, these vampires lived lawlessly. Some lived for nothing but their next meal, while a few used their immense amounts of power to subjugate entire nations to their will.

It wasn’t until the Volturi rose to power that they started to hide from the living. The coven collected all of the most powerful sparklepires they could find, and began to bring order down upon their fellow vampires. They broke up the covens that ruled entire nations and declared immortal children illegal after some were created, only to slaughter entire villages. They have ruled almost entirely unopposed for centuries, only recently facing any opposition.

Still accepting new players?

If so, I might be interested in joining.

I'm particularly interested in Sailor Mercury or Vito Scaletta as potential characters to play as. Sailor Mercury would probably be a mage of some sort given her intellect, and I'm thinking Vito could work well as either a fighter (since he served in the Army) or as a rogue (he is a mobster, after all)

Well, that would be ultimately up to Liz.

But, if he says yes, there's no reason you can't include both - just have them show up at different times and places. Two of our players already have two. Spottedleaf has Caitlin Snow and Yellowfang, while Skooter 910 has Shoto Todoroki and Leah Clearwater. I'm also considering a second character - my first is Corat Damar, while my second would probably be... Silverbolt.

We're indeed still very much open to new players. Still, I advise you to forget about the two character rule for the time being- I'm saving that for players who stick around long enough.

Other than that, whichever character you pick, I'm sure we'll all be happy to welcome you aboard!

Also, considering that all the other characters here are from works in the sci-fi, fantasy, or superhero genres.... I'd say that Sailor Mercury would probably fit in better. But that's just my two cents...

Not a second character, but a change of one! Already approved (that is, the switch, not the character) by Liz, so...

  • Name: Hiccup Drupe
  • Franchise: corNUCOpia
  • Age: 24
  • Race: Human
  • Appearance: The triangle-headed sneak himself. And here is him fully (note: not as menacing or cool as he seems)
  • Alignment: Neutral Good by nature, Chaotic Neutral by nurture
  • Class: Paint Ninja. Not one for direct conflict, both physically and mentally.
  • Personality: The first thing to know about Hiccup is you probably don't really know Hiccup. A very theatrical, melodramatic, and eccentric guy, Hiccup tends to put on a face for whoever he's with. Innocent naivety, cold and dangerous, or just downright dumb, Hiccup peppers in falsehoods about himself whenever it's convenient or handy, with even his actual self being obscured by the addition of one trait or another. Thinking himself much cooler than he really is, Hiccup sees every encounter as a challenge, a way to test himself and have a little fun in seeing how far he can fool others. Of course, his failure to think ahead and need to challenge himself makes it so he rarely goes into anything with a plan, and is prone to fumbling at one thing or another. He makes up for it with great improvisational skills and a happy-go-lucky attitude that leans into childishness whenever he gets a big head. And really, that's what Hiccup is, at the center of his (flimsy) webs of lies - a goofy, goodhearted person with a short fuse who tries his best to keep the peace, even if he is a bit criminal.
  • Skills:
    • An AR-TEEST: Befitting his status as a paint ninja (not that anybody really knows what that is), Hiccup is an adept artist. He knows, like, color theory, the names of all the different brushes and what strokes they make. Y'know, paint stuff.
    • Ninja Things: While he's not exactly a stealthy, "crouch behind cover to avoid enemy detection" kind of ninja, his training as one has definitely given him the skills to be one should he choose. Stealthing, climbing, weaving, and all other acts of dexterousness.
  • Powers and Abilities: Impasto. Hiccup's Ninjability makes him able to control paint, both wet and dry. Impasto is more impressive than it sounds, letting Hiccup change the paint's properties (how hard or soft it is, sharp or goopy, so on) and even turn it into things. Given enough paint, Hiccup can turn any old smear, mural, or splotch into whatever he can come up with, even living animals! Of course, the more complicated his creation is, the more susceptible it is to collapse, as Hiccup needs some level of concentration to keep whatever he makes in its shape, or else it'll schloop into a puddle of paint once more.
  • Equipment:
    • Paintlet: The ringed gauntlet feature in his pictures. Hand-crafted by Hiccup himself, the gauntlet contains several slots for paint, the 6 main colors (red, blue, yellow, orange, green, and purple) as well as white and black. If he runs out, well, it won't be of use except to look fancy. The holes the paint comes from can also be blocked, and it can be rendered utter junk if it gets gunked up by glue or some other sticky substance.
    • Paintbrush: Hiccup travels light, so his only other possession of use is a paintbrush. Nothing special, just a brush.
  • Background: Hailing from the Land of Salts, Hiccup was taken in by its ruler, the Sultan of Salt (or, Saltan) at a very young age. He was trained to be a Ninja, a very secretive rank of the Land of Salts' government, spies trained to undergo covert ops in opposing royal courts and kingdoms to do the Saltan's dirty deeds. While he was a fine trainee, Hiccup's true passion was art, and he spent most of his time out of training painting the day away. Once he was of age, Hiccup was given a Ninjability - a special magical ability given to Ninjas, of course - and his choice was his Impasto power. Since then, Hiccup was sent on many missions by the Saltan, "Steal this", "Take those", "Insult him", and after a while Hiccup grew a bit bored over how simple his tasks were to the point where he rarely took them seriously. That changed when he was told to infiltrate a rival kingdom, the Land of Sugars, and steal their prized possession, the Golden Gumdrop. Yes, food puns are plentiful.
    • Thinking this was too easy of a job, Hiccup was too confident in his abilities, and the supposed heist ended up taking place way too early after being caught as the thief, helped along by the machinations of a rival Ninja. With himself captured, the treasure lost, and the Saltan thoroughly angry, Hiccup sneaked away from the Land of Sugars on a simple trading boat. Only, it turned out the boat would be sailing to a whole other continent, where Hiccup was unceremoniously tossed from the ship when his stowaway self was nabbed. Spending the next month in Ghdonya, under the guise of a baker's apprentice, Hiccup was just hoping he could save up enough to properly charter a boat back home. Though as an apprentice, he barely makes anything, and boats willing to go that far to sea in a busy port were hard to come by...
  • Additional Notes: The landmass that holds the Lands of Salt, Sugars, and etc is named Cornucopia, as I'm a very unoriginal person. People hailing from there are named Cornucopians.

An oddball, this one—even for me and my stupidly bizarre concepts. I've chatted with the Lizard about this, so we'll have to see if it measures up okay...

  • Name: Alice Pleasance Liddell
  • Franchise: Alice in Wonderland
  • Age: 15-16. She seems to flit, and has apparently forgotten her birthday.
  • Race: Human
  • Appearance: 5'6", quite healthy looking excluding the brief periods when she's sober (to which she becomes a little more pale and gaunt). Dress changes between a dull brown to a vibrant blue depending on whether or not she perceives herself to be in reality or Wonderland.
  • Alignment: Politely Chaoticnote
  • Class: Fighter/Mage. Alice is capable of swordfighting when needed, but most usually uses her wits and her ability to draw more utilitarian items from Wonderland in order to solve most conflicts.
  • Personality: Alice attempts to present herself as the epitome of her culture's uptight expectations of womanhood: polite and patient in the face of even the most bizarre of circumstances and having high standards for respect and conventionality in society. However, this clearly has its limits, and the façade (though quite thick) is only that—in actuality Alice is child-like in her thinking and much more inclined towards her fantastical romanticization of things rather than the more complicated reality. She lacks discernment in terms of strangeness and often accepts bizarre happenings as ordinary, considering the natural reactions of confusion and fear in the face of utter insanity as "unproductive" and "rather embarrassing". If she has any phobias or doubts, they are well-hidden—Alice is rarely shaken by things except on the occasions where her delusions momentarily subside. When she finally becomes sober and fully aware of her presence in reality, Alice is much more troubled, quiet, and prone to greater anxiety over the unconventional—which may be why her Wonderland persona is more outgoing and accepting of things. Though prone to bursts of sharp wit and occasionally coming across callous and overly blunt to the people around her, Alice's moral compass is unquestionably aligned towards goodness despite her questionable sanity—and the fact that said moral compass is still somewhat archaic in its values.
  • Skills:
    • Cookery: Her relative lack of skills in cooking were rectified after regular visits to the Duchess (and many insistent remarks on there not being lethal amounts of pepper being mixed into the meals). While not an exceptional chef, Alice is certainly... decent, which is more than satisfactory for her. Better something average and edible than something awful and seemingly made of boiled carpet. Even so the range of the meals she can prepare are fairly limited.
    • Swordfighting: Alice favours one-handed weaponry, and usually fights in a swift and relentless style. The Vorpal Sword may leave them dead but she herself is the wielder, and it would be useless if she couldn't even hold it straight. Alice is adept with her weaponry only in her Wonderland form—while sober she is comparatively lacking due to the fact that she doesn't have any ‘safety wheels’ so to speak.
  • Powers and Abilities:
    • Wonderland Manifestation: Drawing from the depths of her mental landscape, Alice has the ability to physically manifests parts of her Wonderland out into the real world—whether it be weaponry, armour, or consumables that bolster or change her physical attributes (the drink that makes her shrink is one of them, as is a portion of the cake that makes her large). The downside is that these are only accessible in her Wonderland delusions, and while she's in that state she's usually ignorant to some of the goings-on around her anyhow. As such, most of her manifestations are unconscious or unintentional when they happen and oftentimes random due to the extent of which her thoughts stray. The only constants seem to be her ‘faithful’ companion Cheshire, the Vorpal Sword, and the lightly armoured Suit of Hearts—however the former is prone to disappearing himself anyway and the latter two only appears whenever she truly feels killing intent. While the fullest extent of what she sees of Wonderland is unable to be willingly shared, some who are around her for a decent amount of time might be able to see glimpses of it—though these tend to be more irritating and confusing hallucinations than anything substantial. Admittedly a good way to momentarily divert the attention any opponents in her midst, though; a sudden cattlebird flying across their vision provides more than a little distraction.
    • Cheshire: An enigma wrapped in a mystery stuffed into the belly of a scraggly looking grinning cat. Cheshire is the one denizen of Wonderland who remains constant in Alice's life regardless of whether she is delusional or not, and regularly appears in the form of a mangy cat (who still sometimes grins when she's not looking at it) even while she's sober. When she's not sober, Cheshire makes his presence immediately obvious—speaking in a silky baritone and making a habit of disappearing and reappearing in order to create quite the uncanny impression on folks (an activity he seems to enjoy immensely). He acts more as a companion for Alice to banter with than any sort of combat partner—vanishing shamelessly when he feels his life is in danger—but his comparatively ‘rational’ madness and moments of genuine wisdom make his company at the very least tolerable to her and at the most necessary for her survival. Still, his enigmatic nature is troubling—Alice isn't even sure if he's real, let alone in any way under her control.
  • Equipment:
    • Vorpal Sword: Goes snicker-snack. It leaves them dead. A one-handed short sword that only ever manifests when Alice feels the need to take lethal action. Apart from being able to be called to her person at will (thereby negating disarmament), the blade also has a nifty bonus upon being used to decapitate—almost immediately turning her foe to dust if the beheading is successful. Her psyche seems to suffer when she uses it, though, and her Wonderland may become corrupted—so she usually keeps it sheathed until absolutely necessary.
    • “Eat Me”: A sponge cake Alice can manifest that causes one to enlarge for a few minutes upon being consumed. Typically the more one eats of it the bigger one becomes, with the absolute biggest size she can be being a massive 35 feet tall. The shrinking and regrowing during and after its effects can be somewhat startling and sometimes painful due to the speed in which it occurs, but Alice has found many uses for it despite that. Primarily destructive.
    • “Drink Me”: A similar item to her cake, but this comes in the form of a corked bottle filled with a strange purple liquid. Upon being consumed, the user will shrink to a minimum height of 3 inches—again variable depending on how much of the drink one has swallowed. This has the side effect of making her tipsy, and she tends to hiccup uncontrollably for the duration of the shrinking. Alice uses this for sneakier approaches more than anything else, but her aforementioned hiccuping sometimes gives her away.
    • Wonderland Dress: The attire Alice wears only during her Wonderland delusions/visits (depending on if she's awake or not). The dress has the ability to mend itself over time and subtly shifts in response to her mental state—becoming darker in hue the more angry she's feeling and lightening to a teal colouration as her mood lifts. The saturation of the dress also signifies her conviction of what she's seeing—if she believes she is absolutely definitely without question in Wonderland, then her dress will be a vibrant blue and stark white in colouration. If she begins to feel doubt, it will desaturate and eventually discolour entirely; transforming back into her ratty brown dress that she usually wears while sober. In dire situations, it can also encase Alice in a suit of flexible armour—the so-called Suit of Hearts that pairs itself nicely with her Vorpal Sword.
  • Background: Born in the city of Lundos in Avalon, Alice was an oddball from as soon as she could walk. With an insatiable curiosity and a truly strange logic, the extent of her eccentricity only became understandable by her parents after she began to have recurring dreams of a fantastical ‘Wonderland’—a kingdom that seemed to run entirely on nonsense and included such inhabitants as the Cheshire Cat, the March Hair, the Mad Hatter, and so on. It was only by her fourth or fifth visit that Alice's parents began to voice their concern—which was understandable, as by this point she had entered her teenage years and long outgrown the point where children usually relinquished their imaginary friends and adventures. Though being taught to act proper and ‘ordinary’ to those she meets, Alice still cannot suppress her bizarre way of thinking in more ways than mere speech—her Wonderland has become so potent and powerful in her head that it appears to have unlocked some sort of dormant magical effect that encompasses her entire personal space. With oddities and her ramblings continuing ad nauseam (and her recent adoption of a strange stray cat who seems to vanish and reppear in the most remarkable of places) Alice's parents finally decided it would be best if their daughter see some sort of professional—only to hear the slamming of a door as the very subject of their discussion panicked upon overhearing them and fled from the household. Now on her own and surviving entirely off of her own Wonderland consumables and the occasional kindly provision of a pitying passerby, Alice seems to have retreated even further into her delusions in an attempt to cope with her assumed rejection—and her prolonged visitation to the realm of Wonderland can't be good for her mental health...
  • Additional Notes: The exact nature of Alice's powers haven't been studied enough yet to be known, but those magically inclined might get a tremendous readout of chaotic energy emanating from her person and shifting according to her emotions. It is perhaps this unconscious field that burrows into her immediate area and remoulds it to suit her delusions, reshaping her personal space into something more fitting and comforting for her unhinged mind to comprehend. It is uncertain if her madness caused this energy to come into being or the other way around.

Okey dokey pokey then. Minor nitpick: probably couldn't call her upbringing 'Victorian', though the values may well be the same. I'm aiming for a rough Low Middle Ages setting for my world, buuuut it being fantasy, I'll be forgiving of blatant anachronisms here and there.

Other than that, no real objections herein. Welcome aboard.

Ya know, I actually was kinda looking forward to Ninja Goth joining. Don't know them personally, but having either Vito or Sailor Mercury show up would certainly make for some... interesting... dynamics.

You know, this RP is missing some Lovecraft. Let's fix that.

  • Name: Eileen the Crow
  • Franchise: Bloodborne
  • Age: 60 years old.
  • Race:Human
  • Appearance:"Prepare yourself for the worst. There are no humans left. They're all flesh-hungry beasts, now."
  • Alignment: Lawful Neutral
  • Class: Witch Hunter
  • Personality:Despite her sinister appearance, Eileen is quite affable and polite to those that are innocents or who mean to no harm to her, though she can be quite sarcastic to others, especially young people who don't listen to their elders. But to beasts, monsters or those who have strayed from their path and became the same monsters they swore to fight, she is ruthless and merciless, preferring to kill them off than let them live. She is extremely distrustful of beasts and creatures such as Werewolfs, Vampires, or any other dark being, even if they show they mean no harm to others, and would have to gain a large amount of trust for her to believe them. Despite this though, she trys to keep a clear mind and not fall prey to her instincts to hunt due to fear of being consumed by the Old Blood and becoming the same thing she is hunting down.
  • Skills:
    • Combat Knowledge: After many years of being a Hunter in Yharnam, Eileen is skilled in how to fight against either humans or beasts, and how to hunt them. She is also pretty skilled with her blades, making her a dangerous foe in melee combat.
  • Powers and Abilities:
    • The Old Blood:Eileen's blood is infected with the Old Blood, and was then controlled with a blood transfusion that Hunters of Yharnam usually pass through. This grants many beneficial things to Eileen, such as strenght, agility, speed and durability that a normal human wouldn't even be capable of, being able to heal of the blood she spills from her enemies if she recently took damage from them, and being able to temporarily transform one of her arms into a bestial-like shape, being able to impale through flesh and rip it out, though she barely uses this due to fear of being addled by the blood.
  • Equipment:
    • Blood Vials:Eileen carries with her 6 Blood Vials that contain the Old Blood that she can inject to herself, healing her of her wounds. While a uninfected person could use these to heal themselves, the consequences could be....dangerous, and Eileen will make sure no one in no way would use them.
    • Hunter Pistol: A commonly used pistol used by the Hunters of Yharnam, they are far much effective compared to the normal flintlock, as the bullets are crafted for these weapons employ quicksilver bullets, making them effective against beasts, whenever they be the beasts of Yharnam, vampires, werewolf or any kind of monster.
    • Blade of Mercy:One of the first trick weapon of the Hunters of Yharnam. A siderite shortsword that can cut through flesh with ease, it can be split into two daggers.
  • Background: A citizen of the USA and a foreigner of Yharnam, for reasons unknown she decided to move to Yharnam and accepted the blood contract to become a Hunter. Eventually, after years of hunting beasts, she started to notice a pattern of hunters slowly being consumed by the blood, turning into the very same thing they swore to destroy. She made it her mission to hunt down those hunters who have been corrupted by their lust of blood in order to make sure no more beasts are created from their transformation and any innocent inside Yharnam are not harmed by them, becoming the Hunter of Hunters. Years later, despite the Old Blood empowering her and holding back the effects of her age, she started to realize that her age was hindering her efforts in hunting crazed hunters, until she had a nearly fatal encounter with a crazed hunter known as the Bloody Crow of Cainhurst, which would had ended in her death had it not been due to a aid of a unnamed Hunter who had aided her many times in hunting other hunters. After the unnamed hunter helped her, she realized that she could no longer do this anymore, that despite her skills and knowledge and the beast blood still keeping her in shape, she still could not compare to young hunters. With no choice, she was forced to stop her hunting business and pass on her mission to the unnamed hunter, knowing that the new generation will do a good job on dealing with crazed Hunters. She decided to leave Yharnam and wander the USA. Maybe the outside world could benefit of having a Hunter of Yharnam helping them dealing with beasts of any kind. Werewolf, Vampire, monsters, whatever they are...they still bleed all the same as the beasts of Yharnam.

  • Name:The Great Ones
  • Territories:Unknown, though the rare sightings of these beings are usually in the USA, Kumari Kandam and Meropis, with the city of Yharnam, located in Atlantis, being the area where they congregate the most due to the Old Blood being widespread.
  • Biology: The physical form of a Great One is varied. One could take the form of a arachnoid being with a stick-like body. Another can take the form of a brain with multiple eyes in it, while another can take the form of a six armed being with no head and covered in black robes and a hood, and another resembles a white pillbug with a bulbous body. Their form is never static. The Great Ones are supernatural beings with incredible strength and stamina. They are demonic and godly in both appearance and abilities. Many of them are able to summon celestial and star-like explosions, be able to tolerate pain that no other being can, use powerful magics and so on. Despite their power though, they still can die just like any mortal being. Another interesting thing of them is that their blood has a curious effect on humanoid species. Those who gain a transfusion of blood that belonged to a Great One will not only find themselves healed of any disease they had and from any wounds, no matter how deadly it was, but also find themselves being much stronger, faster and durable than a normal being of their species. A deadly side effect of it though, is that the person would slowly find themselves losing their sanity, and transforming into a terrifying beast with no other desire but to kill, unless they take a blood transfusion to control the old blood. This, along with what happened to Yharnam and showing the consequences of the Old Blood, has caused all the continents to strictly forbid any use whatsoever of the use of Great One blood, as to avoid any possible spread of a plague, though many power hungry people still attempt to gain a sample of it, no matter the consequences.
  • Culture: While the people of Foitenigi still haven't found out how these beings socialize with each other, or if they even have any shred of civilization, some worshippers of these beings claim that they came here to elevate all of them to a higher plane of existence, and to turn them all into the same beings they are, though many dismiss them as lunatics and insane people who have no idea what they are saying, though the cultists still claim there has been followers who have truly ascended and became "Kin" to the Great Ones.
  • Short History: The true origins of these stranges beings are unknown, but many scholars of the USA, Kumari Kandam and Meropis theorize that they are a race from another plane of existence, who for some reason unknown, found the world of Foitenigi and were curious of this place and had interest in it, and some of them decided to make thier home in this world. While there hasn't been many interactions between The Great Ones and the humanoid species of Foitenigi, mainly due to the fact it requires a different state of mind to even be able to witness these beings, they still wonder what are the intentions of this beings, whenever benevolent....or dangerous. When the news of what happened with the city of Yharnam was revealed to the world, and how the widespread use of their blood caused the population of that place to turn into bloodthirsty beasts, many have became distrustful and paranoid of these beings, with the scholars who revered them and idolized them being shunned, and the fact those who witness these beings can end up with their mind being shattered worsened the opinion of these beings.
  • Additional Notes:I certainly hope the Great Ones don't end up unbalanced or too much for the game, so if there is any need to edit things out or change it, I'm all ears.

Interesting stuff. Don't see much reason to exclude the Hunter of Hunters there. As for the Great Ones, 'celestial and star-like explosions' does sound a bit much, I grant you, but it's not as if you're going to be playing them, right? So long as I have a big say in what these boss monsters do and where they go, I think I'll be all right with that.

Accepted. And now, a long awaited update to the main post!

  • Name: Kirito

  • Franchise: SAO

  • Age: 18

  • Class: Tank. Though not AS tough as traditional tanks, he can deal damage with the best of them. He can usually overwhelm most things, and when he can't, it takes a while for him to adjust.

  • Appearance: Kirito can be describe as disheveled, with perpetually messy hair and a hobo-like dirty overall appearance. Though his long hours in the sun have somewhat darkened his skin, he is still somewhat pale. His hair, which he keeps in a bun, is extremely dark, and his eyes are a pitch black colorless void.

  • Alignment: Chaotic Good

  • Race: Dark Fairy

  • Personality: Though first coming across as cynical and gloomy, Kirito really just wants to be accepted. His abuse at the hands of the Dark Faries and even his own parents because of his strange skillset has left him socially inept, and as such he will often say things that are offensive without knowing they are offensive. He will also take anything said about his race as MAJOR insults because of his bad history with them. When you get to know Kirito, however, he's actually just misunderstood and a very logical thinker.

  • Skills:
    • Swordplay Honing his skills through the long years, Kirito has become a master Greatswordsman.
    • Strategy through his many battles, Kirito has become quite competent in strategy concocting.

  • Powers and Abilities:
    • flight As a dark fairy kirito has wings and can fly.
    • Smokebomb Kirito is capable of causing smoke to emit from a certain area within 2 miles of him, which will dissipate after an hour.
      • Poison Smokebomb With training, Kirito can add a poison effect to smokebomb.

  • Equipment:
    • Weapons A 4-foot bladed black and silver greatsword.
    • Clothing Clothes wise, Kirito wears a black and white tailcoat, like robe, with small slits to let his wings through. he also wears black dress pants and doesn't wear shoes.

  • Background: When kirito was born, the Dark Fairies were moving from one side of the world to the other, trying to find Yggdrasil in Aincrad, never living in one place, they eventually settled in the dark forests miles away from the Tree, and he lived most of his life there.

  • As he grew, the others gradually noticed that Kirito was..different. First, he wasn't as mischeivious as the other boys, never joining in on their jokes and pranks. He much more liked to stick to himself, and, when he showed prowess in swordplay the constantly mocked him about how he wasn't a true Dark Fairy.

    • One day, when Kirito was 18, he was pushed beyond the edge of the border of Aincrad when he announced he was not going to be a thief, but a traveler. the other Dark fairies cut him nearly in half and left him to bleed out. By some miracle he made it to a small town where he was treated, given a small amount of money food and water, and tgold where the nearst city was so he could find work. now he wanders from place to place, A mercenary with no true home.

Seems decent so far. A few typos here and there that I'm willing to let slide. Couple of main concerns:

Firstly, I'm a little confused about why you skipped the section on appearance, class and skill. If you don't know what to put for the last two, there's no shame in asking for advice.

Secondly, I'll admit that I know precisely fudge about Sword Art Online, but from what little I can gather, it doesn't seem as though this character has much to do with his canon counterpart. Credit where it's due, though- you could easily have kept him a straight-up isekai character, but you didn't, so thank you for that.

kirito in the anime has...no personality what-so-ever. i'm a fan and i'm willing to admit that. that and the fact that kirito as a game character never got a backstory, I basically had to make most of him up. other than that the mistakes were oversights on my part. My apologies.

  • Name: Dark Fairy

  • Territories: They only hold a small outpost near Yggdrasil in Aincrad.

  • Biology: Dark Fairies are nearly exactly like humans, a lot like most other fairies, but there skin is much paler and their hair and eyes are said to be as black as an endless void. As all fairies do, they have very thin wings. Unlike other fairies, however, the Dark Fairies have leathery wings as opposed to the others' feathery wings.

  • Short History Long ago all fairies were united together under a single purpose, find the tree of life Yggdrasil. Soon, however, a conflict arose about whether to continue the search or to give up and settle. The Dark Fairies rallied half of the entire fairy race to help them fight against the ones who wanted to settle, and the war lasted decades.

In the end, the Dark Fairies were crippled, cursed to have a distinct physical appearance to mark them, and forced to wander through the forests of Aincrad. After 50 years of walking, the finally settled, ironically, right next the valley of Yggdrasil.

  • Culture: The Dark Fairies never had any traditions, most of them only amounting to liars, assassins, and thieves. I can address the original Fairies in the worldbuilding thread tough.

Interesting proposal. Grinds a bit against a couple of pre-existing ideas I had for fairies, but I've learned not to force my own ideas onto my players. Besides, we can hash things out if need be, either in private messages or world building.

All in all, I'm inclined towards giving Kirito a shot. Before I make it official, though, please do hit that little button in the top right corner of your signup post and edit in the three missing sections.

EDIT: I hate double posting, so I'm gonna put this in here instead. Accepted.
