This is going to be a magical girl RPG, with a twist. Your bodies will be that of teenage magical girls, but your minds are grizzled military veterans.

It will use the Maid the RPG system; if you don't know the system, don't worry. It's very rules light and I will post an explanation for the rules I use from the system, I mainly want it for the random character generation and have provided two links to character generators.

Scenario:

You were members of a mixed-forces military team, until your transport vehicle hit an IED. You all wake up, now in the form of young teenage girls. A magical creature tells you that he is from an alternate universe. There are multiple realities... one of them, called the Dark-Verse, is full of people trying to conquer all of reality. The magical creature came from what he called the Light-Verse, a world of enlightened magical users who ranged in height from three to five feet in height. When his world fell to the Dark-Verse, he escaped, along with X sets of magical armor. He recruited the only people who could find to fit in the armor (young girls). In a battle with the Dark-Verse forces, the Dark-Verse used a one-shot weapon that ripped the girls' souls from their body.

In desperation, the creature searched for a set of replacement fighting souls and found yours, placing your souls in the girls' bodies.

Now you have to adapt to new bodies, new powers, and a new enemy!

To find out the stats of your new body, go to https://www.mixvixen.org/maids-rpg-character-generator/ to make a character. You may reload the page to reroll if you don't fill the rolled traits make sense given your military back ground. Skill in the rolled stats refers to Maid skill, Stats (except for favor and spirit) will be in a range usually from 0 to 4.

If you choose to select your stress explosion and weapon, that's fine but if you choose rather then random you must select options that apply to your military past life. It's fine if you randomly get magic or psychic abilities as a random roll, but no deliberately picking them.

... What?

Okay, so, forcing us to randomly generate a magical girl makes sense from an in universe standpoint, as our military guy presumably wouldn't have any say in what magical girl body their soul gets put into.

However, from out of universe, it's just not as fun. It completely kneecaps any creative freedom in creating the characters, to the point where I doubt anyone will want to jump in; the creative liberty is what draws most players on this site to any RP that isn't a crossover, and it's part of why I see rules-driven games tend to do poorly compared to the free form ones.

EDIT: Also, some of the game mechanics don't make sense to me when put that way and when forced to be random. I mean, in order for the premise to make sense, mentally the characters are still the military veterans, with their memories, and behavior; if they don't remember being a military veteran and don't act like they're a military veteran, then they really aren't any different from a normal magical girl, and therefore the whole premise would be moot. So since they've gotta be mentally themselves, why would things like affection, skill, cunning, will, spirit, and the way they respond to a stressful situation be based on RNG/the girl's body? The execution you're going with just doesn't mesh well with the premise, in my opinion.

ADDENDUM: Well, for now I think I'll pass, but I'll keep an eye on things and maybe I'll change my mind if this gets some traction.
