He wielded in one hand a lance that could pierce anything and a grail in the other that could grant any wish. This man declared himself the king of the world and said that he held the very foundation of magic within his hands. We laughed, thinking that he was insane. Until he proved us wrong by tearing the skies apart with one swing of his lance and creating abysses throughout the earth with another strike. From the skies came creatures of legends and from the Earth came creatures of folktales. Everything you could imagine was summoned forth onto Earth and destroyed everything in their path. In the end, the only thing to be left was the concept of magic.
The King of Kings took over the world and led it with an iron fist. He killed those that questioned his methods, yet he never harmed innocents instead he would protected them from harm and ensured that everyone was equal. The only ones who were unhappy were those who committed crimes... they were forced into slavery and labor. Even though we had to live a new life in a changed world, it wasn't bad at all. Everything was the same, except for the fact that technology was now magic.
One day however, 22 figures exposed themselves- the last living entities who hid away from history and who survived by staying in the shadows, did not find any of this to be acceptable. Thus, war broke out between them and the King. The two sides clashed for what seemed like thousands of years and yet neither side budged an inch until one day, their most powerful abilities clashed and something was created; a poison. This poison unknowingly was spread across the whole globe and with it blessed the people. These people would then give birth to people who held a special trait with them, a trait that made itself known by turning those affected into supernatural beings. When these people started to reproduce their 'true' abilities were finally realized in their children, and their children's children.
These people would later become Faces and their powers were comparable to 'gods'. For much time, the Faces were both feared and respected... but eventually, they were all accepted as they soon integrated into society.
I believe that the Faces will decide the fate of this world now that both the 22 figures and the King of Kings are gone. And whatever happens, will change the very foundation of this world...
Welcome to (yet another) Lotus-themed RP with terminology being used from other R Ps!
The setting for this RP is inspired heavily by an older RP that I found on site via heavy googling that I decided to make my own. Anyway, the setting is slightly post-apocalyptic where science and technology has been forcibly merged together with the concepts of the supernatural and 'magic' by King of Kings in the opening post.
The players are playing as a Face, or the offspring of the infected humans/humans' children who were affected by the clash of the two forces thousands of years ago. However, due to the enormous amount of power that went into the clash between the two forces, the offspring of the affected people aren't necessarily human-looking anymore because of this. So, it is indeed possible for a Face to be a Minotaur, a dragon, or even a Pegasus. Each race would of course have physical traits unique to them that would give them an 'edge' in battle, however, in order to access their 'Petal' manipulation, they would have to revert to their humanoid form before starting the Petal manipulation phase, which would take some time. However, humanoid characters (such as elves, humans, dwarfs, etc.) don't have to worry about this, for they can instantly go into their Petal’s Phase at a moment's notice or summon their Petal to do battle for them.
Speaking of Petals and Faces, each Face will be capable of manipulating a Petal or an idea of their choosing, which can be a historical hero/figure, a god, or an important event in history. The Face would also be capable of summoning said Petal to do battle for them in a physical form, or to manipulate the Petal as their own and to use their power as if it were an extension of themselves.
Petals are basically whatever you want your character's power to be. If you make your power like that of a historical/mythological figure, then you would have access to that person's power, and would be capable of summoning them to fight in your place or manipulating their powers to be your own.
For example, if you want your character to have the power of Leonidas, then they would have a spear and a shield as a weapon capable of immense feats for their First Petal Phase. The second phase would grant the user great strength, speed, and perhaps even Spartan soldiers to dispense with. Not only that, but they would also get some cosmetic effects. The final phase would allow the user to become a modified version of Leonidas himself and they would have access to all of the powers that he had in life.
This also applies to events in history as well. I am allowing people to create their own Petals as well, which allows customization and more free-will, just as long as they don't stray too far away from their Petal’s origin, and it isn't world-breaking broken.

Arte-Verum : Literally means “True Skill”. This is your Summoned Petal's strongest ability that essentially makes them stand out from all others. Consider this their 'ace in the hole’.
