  • Name: Kara Quistel
  • Age: 23
  • Gender: Female
  • Duel Disk: Standard duel disk.
  • Appearance: Shoulder-blade length black hair tied in a pair of twintails, round glasses, green eyes, and a bit rounder in the middle that most female pro duelists. Tends to wear sweaters and cardigans over plain tee-shirts and denim shorts with thigh high socks to cover the the prosthetic replacing her left leg just below the knee.

  • Backstory: In her early teens Kara was caught in a late night head on collision with some illegal street racers while out with her father, he attempted to swerve away, but only managed to take the brunt of the collision on his side of the car. He never woke up, while Kara's lower leg was pulverized. With her mother nowhere to be found Kara ended up in the care of her grandfather, a mechanic and hobbyist clock maker. It was after this Kara first really got involved in (online) dueling as a distraction from her grief, pain, and the boredom of being taken out of school and nearly confined to home by lack of mobility. Eventually she was fitted for a cybernetic prosthetic and was able to get out and make some real life friends, starting with her local card shop. Presently Kara is well on her way toward following her grandfather's professional footsteps, but it would be a shame to miss one of the most historic Duel Monster tournaments when it's being held in your home town, wouldn't it?

Gravity Blaster, Synchro Boost, and Spikeshield with Chains are not very good.

Since you are playing an EARTH Synchro deck, maybe Goyo Guardian can be useful.

Was aiming mostly for Machines, but now that you mention it I've got Goyo Guardians's summon cost covered so I might as well add it.

Spikeshield with Chain is there because my normal summon Karakuris automatically switch to DEF, and since I'm not really sure how well I'm going to be able to use a synchro deck now that Links and the Extra monster zones are a thing I figured they might need a buff. So I'll probably keep them for now.

Synchro boost was mostly there to even out my spell/trap card count now that I think of that, so replaced that with another copy of one of my traps. But gonna have to think about whether Gravity Blaster will actually do what I was hoping it would, not sure what I'd replace them with yet.


And thanks! I'll drop in the discussion thread then. Guess I'll take further deck building discussion there?
