Even the power of the gods falter to a sufficiently big boom.

Considering one of said "booms" came from a god, and that another came from someone born of the Gods, its more accurately something the series says repeatedly: "It takes Divinity to fight Divinity".

The God Hand conversation is just a baffling inclusion, since it won't be relevant later in the UBW story and they didn't do any jokes about how stupid it is. I'm not sure why it's there.

Because Rin and Archer are planning their next course of action? There is a plot going on, and at the moment they don't just have Medea taking Artoria to worry about, they've also got to worry about Heracles. They don't know it won't matter to them later, and the discussion is less about Heracles and more the shit they now have to deal with in general.

That's a Watsonian explanation, but it's not an explanation for why the writers included it.

It's an inefficient use of time. If it doesn't serve a plot purpose or set up a joke, it's just... there. And the series is so incredibly reliant of being familiar with the source material it can't serve as a Red Herring, either.

... which is why I think it will become relevant somehow in a way that it didn't in the original.

It could be that the writer(s) simply wanted to flex their savvy.
