I'm trying that with Daisy Brown's character page, but all it's doing is redirecting me to the actual page and not opening the editor at all.

If it doesn't work, it means someone else is already editing the page. For some reason, pages that are being edited have the same "locked" icon as pages that are locked for real.

If you open the page in a new tab/window, either by right-clicking it or using the middle mouse button, you can get around the bug that causes pages to be randomly locked.
If the page is locked by error, you can edit and save like normal. Pages that are intentionally locked will still allow you to open the editor this way, but it won\'t save the changes.
