This image did not get enough consensus in the Image Suggestion thread. Other ideas?

I don't think this is a BUPKIS case but it's probably going to need a lampshade to get across.

To be clear, the full suggestion, including caption, was this:

L-R: The Consort, The Man, and The Mistress.

I did also point out a number of details that I don't know if people missed, such as the mistress looking more youthful than the wife/consort.

Looks like a family portrait. Did the aristocrats use to have their mistresses and wives in the same room?

Honestly, the Church was so corrupt by that point that he could get away with it. He wasn't even officially married to Vannoza despite her higher status as the mother of his children.

I suppose the younger lady could be taken to be his daughter or something, but let's not forget that the rest of the page serves as context too. We're not looking at it in a vaccuum.

The text is ineligible, but does their body language get the point across clear enough?

7 is the best so far. Since we cannot read the text anyway, a closer crop is in order.

How is it distinguished from Your Cheating Heart? The Mistress doesn't simply refer to an extra-marital paramour, but one who enjoys a specfic social status.

^ The mistress has a crown herself but her status is not an integral part of the trope as written. What has to come out is that the extra-marital relationship is an ongoing one and not merely some one time roll in the hay. The intimacy of the two characters on the right is supporting that aspect, IMO.

The clock's up and I'm not seeing enough consensus on anything (I'm not really a fan of the gouty guy comic). Locking up.
