So Infinite's power is to create illusions... that can interact with things?

I don't really understand it, unless he's creating another dimension and layering it across local space, with him being able to reality warp in the other dimension?

When someones ability to make illusions becomes strong enough the illusions can gain the ability to be "real"/physical. Ive seen it before.

He's a zeti okay I messed up his name that is the least of my worries with this game.

Yes, and Metal Sonic too.

But don't worry, the real Shadow shows up.

Oh and the big battle scene has an army of fake Zavoks, Chaos(es?), Shadows, and Metal Sonics.

So I've been actively looking up spoilers, and I can't seem to find the middle of the game ^^;

Everything from Classic Sonic's Eggman Battle, to... The last Green Hill Zone level, the one where the Avatar's stopping that giant crab robot.

Isn’t that already the middle of the game?

Avatar’s GHZ is the 20th stage.

Wow, that looks like pure shit.

Someone compared the final phase to the Nega Wisp Armor but that's an insult. The NWA was a really fun boss with a super hype finish. This thing has a super boring name, an okay design that's meaningless, only has three easy to avoid attacks, and the Tripple Boost is incredibly dull. Not helping matters is that the music is really generic and doesn't even sound like an orchestral version of "Fist Bump".

I kinda wish we got Infinite as the last boss with like some mutated form.

I'm telling you, Super Infinite VS Super Sonic would have been pure hype.

A multiphase boss against Eggman piloted old final boss machines as Infinite constructs.

Out of curiosity, do we know for a fact that there's no true ending?

Funnily enough the eggman as final boss is to please people who hate monster final bosses and eggman being overshadowed as villain.

But this is a case where final Infinite would've been the better choice really. Especially since his last fight before is a tad lackluster.

Honestly the game kind of feels like it constrained itself too much, out of lack of confidence. Funny because ST before took too much of risk and outside their capabilities but this feels like they didn't go a bit far enough in many ways.

You know what would have been great? Super Sonic VS Super Infinite where Infinite creates copies of all (or at least most) of the past Super Sonic bosses that you go through in chronological order. Each one only takes one hit so as not to overstay their welcome and you can have Infinite doing things during them to spice it up.

"Fight back as Modern Sonic.."

"Resistance."

"Let's clean up the mess Eggman left this world in. And I'm not talking about the illusions he dreamed up for us, I'm talking about the 'real world that we all live in!"

......really Sega? You going to have a message about cleaning up the environment and recycling plastic too? Given that this is a Japanese franchise albeit with a heavily publicized American branch, I have to wonder if this was just the translators having fun with the dialogue.

Man, Eggman doesn't even talk or do his typical Eggman-isms in the final battle. The final boss is one of those robots from The Incredibles.

I think this game ending with Infinite and Eggman still continuining with their world conquest plans would have been great, because the phantom ruby having power to harm Super Sonic like it did in Mania could lead to this only being phase one in their plots. Him bringing back more villains and bosses as the setup for the next part would have been great too. Even some mirror matches like Kaiju Chaos fighting Sonic and real Chaos.

Heck we could have had a bunch of Eggmans running around helping Eggman make more doomsday weapons.

I still love the scene where both sonic and the avatar say goodbye to each other and run off

I love that Knuckles is a character worthy of respect.

As garbage as the story was, he was the resistance leader so he took charge at least

But what about the Master Emerald?

If Eggman takes over the world, that also means he takes over the Floating Island, which means he gets the Master Emerald by default. As far as Knuckles is concerned, this is probably the best way to protect it given the circumstances.
