This trope is listed under No Real Life Examples Please, yet nearly every example (except for a sole In-Universe lampshading under Western Animation) is troping fanbase hate; it's just stuck under the parent medium to slip it past the radar. I propose that this trope be given an Example Sectionectomy to stop the Loophole Abuse.

Going ahead and opening this.

I wonder: can we gather enough In-Universe examples to make it IUEO? YMMV and NRLEP don’t mix in my opinion.

NRLEP status does not by default exclude creator bashing, just non-media based examples.

Well, it's in the "Flame Bait, complaining, and natter" section, and I'm not sure if that was a coincidence or intentional. Scapegoat Creator was added to the list way back in May 2012, when the sections were alphabetical, and it's from this very early crowner. (That said, it had a better vote ratio than what's on that crowner right now). It was brought to the thread in May 2012 (see the "discussion" about the trope at the bottom of that page). My point is that the trope was added to NRLEP primarily because of natter problems in the example section, as the (very light) contemporary discussion implies.

It wasn't made NRLEP because of some fundamental fact about the trope but rather because of problems with the example section. Also, I don't think there is a fundamental problem with the trope.

Also, I don't think this needs to be IUEO or have an Example Sectionectomy. I think it could use a clean-up effort the likes of removing complaining or natter alert.

Look at all that shiny stuff ain't they pretty

[up] Seems more feasible. I can get behind that idea. [tup]

There's a bit of problem with natter a bullet abuse, but in my opinion, not that much complaining relative to what the subject might imply. There are certainly more than enough examples that show this trope can be handled without extra restrictions.

Misblamed can objectively cover all non in-universe examples, I'd say cut them.
