Going ahead and opening this one...that certainly seems to fit the bill.
That's not bad.
''“You want a planet? I’ll give you a planet! Heck, I’ll give you your own solar system! No, I’ll give you a house... in Boca Raton! It fits better than almost all other pony suggestions in IP threads.
Check out my fanfiction!OP works.
OP seems good to me.
(Annoyed grunt)Good enough, let’s run with it.
For the record, I haven't gotten marcusmaximus' permission yet, I just wanted to get a feel for how much consensus there otherwise was on the matter before I bothered him about it.
Also, would it be better with or without that "educated fluffies" text at the top?
Would be fine either way.
As for the permission, if someone wants to volunteer to ask the creator of the image, feel free to do so. Would be okay if it's only a portion of the full image used, but if it's the full image, yeah, permission is needed.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI've already messaged the artist.
For comparison, here's the full image. I cropped it only slightly, and more for legibility of what's on the paper than to avoid legal or ethical issues.
Tentative caption suggestion, for if this gets picked:
"Miss, my classmate ate my homework..."
Yeah, that's still enough of the pic that we should get permission.
3 days later, and I've yet to hear back; here's two narrower crops...
The second one is probably good enough.
Either.
Check out my fanfiction! Now that I'm home on my laptop, I took a look and the second crop is less than 50% of the overall work, which is good enough to count as an excerpt for me. Thus, it's up and tagged with the usual caption links. Actual caption?
I still stand by my "miss, my classmate ate my homework" caption idea, except said punchline being potholed to the full drawing.
That could work.
...on second thought, since the basis for the punchline was cropped out, and the one who says it's "2" isn't necessarily trying to eat the piece of paper (and if so, it looks like it'd be eating its own work, since it's colour-coded to the fur of the fluffies) maybe that wouldn't be such a good caption after all.
No consensus on a caption; locking up.
I know "fluffy pony" art is commonly associated with the abuse-themed subgenres thereof, (and for the record, I find it disturbing that anyone would choose to draw such content in the first place) but marcusmaximus' stuff is more "hugbox."
So is guilt by association enough reason to reject this or no? If not, is it otherwise worthwhile?
EDIT: Switched to better example within marcusmaximus' work...
