Image Macros are disallowed, so no to that. And simply depicting an image of a disaster will, at best, illustrate some sort of Downer Ending (as well as a whole slew of disaster/calamity tropes), and not Ending Aversion.
Since this is a YMMV, I think it'd need some sort of lampshade for it not to become JAFAAC.

This image◊ struck out to me as a interesting illustration of the concept. If used, we'd crop the image and move the text to a caption.
If that particular image doesn't work, the concept of using the Titanic (or any other famous disaster like it) as an allegory for this trope (a bad end overshadowing everything else) seems like a avenue to look at.
Any thoughts?
