It...makes a twisted sense. Im not sure if I should be impressed that the guy was able to inspire some of the most insane horror imaginable from his own racism and xenophobia or insulted.
If you can't handle being outed by a signature, that's on you.The amount of people getting triggered in the comments at her hammering it in that Lovecraft is a racist is frustrating but sadly not surprising.
I really need to stop looking at youtube comments.
You should. It has made my life infinitely better. The channel can get some pretty nasty comments (like the video on Dante's Inferno) whether subtle or overt.
Don't catch you slippin' now.I thought most if not all Lovecraft nerds would know by now that Lovecraft was a virulent racist that while you can enjoy his work still deserves to be criticized over his values.
But sadly people always reach new levels of stupidity it seems.

I got into Lovecraft by way of Metallica. When I was a small child, "The Call of Ktulu" (sic) scared me to the point that I thought "instrumental" meant "creepy". But as I got older, I saw a replica of the statuette from ''The Call of Cthulhu" in a catalog, and thought I should look into it.
As a person who likes to think of myself as a logical and rational person, one would think I'd dislike his themes of Things Man Was Not Meant to Know. But I get an ironic rush out of knowing about these supposedly unknowable things by reading his stories.

The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever.I also found the fact that many of Lovecraft's protagonists go insane from looking at the creatures because they're kinda scary looking to be rather dumb. I think most people nowadays assume Lovecraft's monsters drive people mad because of some kind of psychic field they give off but given the way they are described i'm pretty sure Lovecraft though something looking "inhuman" enough would destroy someones sanity.
New episode, this time talking about one of my favorite youkai: the Jorougumo. Also features a brief appearance by Matt from Extra Credits.
Fun fact: Jorogumo means "Whore Spider".
Or "Binding Bride," depending on how you write the characters.
Also, Red and Blue look weird in Extra Credits art style.
Red's appearance and facial expressions in that actually remind me of Girl Genius.
Hey, they just released a new episode of Journey to the West:
Since it's the holiday season, the newest video is about A Christmas Carol.
She has a very nice singing voice.
New episode: this time, Red talks about All Quiet on the Western Front.
And Blue gets hives from discussing modern history.
Classical history is so insane, though!
Here's a random thing.
Let this… thing…? tide you over 'til regular content resumes on Friday!
A new Trope Talk video got posted, this time about post-apocalyptic scenarios:
I gotta be honest and say that I usually dislike post apocalyptic stories. Red talked about some of the pitfalls that are part of the reason for my dislike, but it runs a bit deeper than that.
Don't catch you slippin' now.New Miscellaneous Mythology episode today: this time, talking about Aphrodite, and how this goddess of love was also a goddess of war at times.
Bath Bomb Ball Sack.
I am surprised she didn't put on Super Freak for Aphrodite.
This week's episode is a short one about Nerites;
One thing I'll give our favorite paranoid racist is that his name is kinda cool. That is pretty much the only thing I have really.
Don't catch you slippin' now.
