The description implies that this is for characters who look out the window when someone else is there. No one else is present in the picture. Let's look for something that at least has someone else present.

Opened. Tentatively leaning toward 1.1.

1.1 is fine, though the image quality looks a little shoddy. 1.2 just appears to be Skinner closing the blinds, while in 1.1 Burns is clearly looking outside during a conversation. Burns holding his arms behind his back in that fashion also contributes to the "contemplative" part.

I'll go with 1.1. Or a better quality version of it.

I'm also having doubts 1.1 is even an example, since, in context, he is looking at Smithers every few seconds.

Can't really tell what's going on in that.

Yeah, that's way too dark to see what's going on.

Another option... Vader aboard the executor.

Or alternatively, another screenshot from the Skinner scene referred to earlier.

The quality of the second is way too bad, and the first would need to be cropped a lot closer to Vader to make it clear that he's standing there being contemplative.
