I don’t like Astral and her pro-Chugga group myself, since they’re too anti-Emily, and I think Emily’s point was that the negativity contributes to the harassment. The problem was that Emily, in pointing that out, inadvertently did the exact same thing to people who weren’t doing anything and didn’t acknowledge it at all.

Tim has also requested that Ant and Fushi be not harassed and instead left alone.

At this point, I’m on team “I want all the drama to end already”.

I feel like that's the stance most people should take. I know that's definitely mine.

It's good that Tim didn't join them in their Emily-bashing.

Astral's initial comparisons to Chugaa and other people who had bad things about them overstated or outright false (Spoctor Theory, Kwite, Pyrocynical, ProJared, DAGames, Vic Mignogna, etc.) is a valid comparison, though. All of them (and Emile) did awful things, but not nearly as bad as what was initially reported.

Since Masae doesn't want to associate with him anymore, should we remove any mention of them from each other's pages? Of course I ask this after adding a Masae entry to the Black and White Funny page.

I don't think so. Even if they don't associate anymore, erasure of the past isn't particularly tolerated here. It's why Values Dissonance exists.

He and Masae were engaged privately and he thought they were still friends even after they broke up, and thats why the Splatoon 2 cameo happened.

Chugga did seek help after Emily told him he was wrong and he sent her shoes because they needed repair at first and then she mentioned her birthday.

Lawly: he was an idiot teenager doing memes.

Chugga now knows what major issues he has and it has helped him a lot. He also damns mental help phone sponsors because they didn't help him in 2021.

He's been a hous husband for his partner, but struggles with not writing down video idea.

He love everyone.

Chugga is unlikely to even start up videos again because of his health and is obviously not going to any events in the future. He's going to have to think about it.

It starts off as explanations behind the events...and then takes a very harrowing turn towards the end. He was a victim of sexual assault as a child. The trauma from that has affected him all his life and may have played a role in his behavior in not only the incidents but in every single video he has done.

Speaking of which, Emile has no idea if he wants to go back to making videos. He's too traumatized by just about everything to know what direction his life should go now and if he will even enjoy his usual stuff.

...God. Uhhh. Wow. Learning about him and Masae actually being a couple is...bizarre. But that's all I think needs to be said on that. I'm glad they've both chosen to be mature and avoid association anymore.

It really, really does hurt knowing that this experience probably deprived Chugga of the joy of something he loved doing for all these years, so I can only hope that he learns to find that joy again some other way. But, if it turns out he never makes another video again...I can at least make peace knowing that he's trying to fix himself for the better.

Not a lot of people can find that strength in this day and age.

This was 100% not what I thought it was.

I don't know if Emile actually had to reveal that him and Masea were engaged, feels like that's violating her desire to keep it private.

But it is "their" relationship and not "her" relationship, so I guess Emile has a right to tell his story. I dunno, messy things are messy. I hope he gets the help he needs and ends up in a better place.

This is quite depressing if I can even make anything out of it. He's honestly an asset to the video game community. I've always admired his work (maybe he was the first Let's Player I found so it shaped my expectations to some extent) despite cringing at some of his commentary in his older Let's Plays but I'll respect his decision.

MadameWario is seconding Chugga's story regarding his and Masae's relationship, claiming that they got engaged the same time she did

The part in the doc where Emile says he was a victim of SA as a kid, that puts a much darker spin on all of the jokes made about his innocence.

So hears my in a nutshell take on this: Emile did wrong but is getting help so that good, the Masae part sould have never come to light on both sides, the Lawly part was best left in the past internet age that is best left forgotten and that lady Emily is not to be trusted thanks to her actions on this shitshow.
