The Super Mario Bros. 3 one is pretty unique in how they approach it. The main reason they're playing the game is because Emile never managed to beat the game, but they alternate who's playing with every level. So everybody gets a turn playing, but you still get your fair share of rookie mistakes with Chugga.
Emile dying twice on the first level is perhaps the most notable fail of the series.

Actually now that you mention them changing each level, I think I actually watched the first 10 or so episodes of that one.

I can only wonder if there's any games out there that Emile and/or Tim have played that Jon hasn't.
Jon's game collection is massive. Full of games he's never played, sure,
but I can only wonder how many of those are things like obscure bottom of the barrel CD-i games and how many are genuine classics from the NES and SNES eras.

I heard that he was reluctant to work on Fire Emblem because of the fanbase (and honestly, I can't blame him if he feels that way). Not sure how true it is though, since I heard it secondhand.

I'm still hoping for an Ace Attorney playthrough. It'd even match up with the recent Steam release.
I've been watching his Black & White Let's Play recentlynote , so I've been in a Chuggaaconroy mood recently.
I'm hoping its something I haven't played before, it makes me less likely to watch the whole thing right now, but watching the first few episodes of a series I hadn't played before has gotten me to buy/play quite a few franchises I ended up really enjoying like Okami & Pikmin.

The only time I've seen him and Ace Attorney is that he played Apollo Justice and didn't like it, so I doubt it's Ace Attorney. Professor Layton would be more likely.

How would a playthrough of anything in the series work, anyways? It's all puzzles and optional puzzles and also probably showcasing every Hint Coin location, but I can't imagine going into an LP knowing most of the answers already is an easy thing to make entertaining.
Unless... what if the idea behind the "new video structure" is something that at least lets viewers play along with solving the puzzles? Or maybe he brings guests in to play the Luke to his Layton as they solve them for the first time?

Oh neat, I'll have to watch the SMB 3 one at some point.
I have seen and enjoyed the Pokemon Snap one.
I hope TRG keep mixing up the usual multiplayer game format with these "one plays, others help/commentate videos".
