So, it's been half a year since the last post in this thread. The trope's definition has since been changed back to what it used to be from well before that thread. With mod permission, I've decided to start over with a thread about the same subject, in case either previously-invalid entries of mine are worthwhile as of the restored definition or someone else has come up with something better in the past few months.

I still believe that, without context regarding who put the signs there, or how trustworthy they are or are not, skepticism that "safety" and "death" were labelled truthfully might not necessarily constitute "too dumb to live."

However, instead of taking up too much scrolling space by reposting all my suggestions directly into this thread, I'll just link to the posts in which I suggested options.

I'm confused. That crowner clearly has "Restore to previous definition of life-endangering stupidity" as the winner. Your suggestions seem to be illustrating the option that lost, namely the definition of "death by stupidity" or "life-ending stupidity."

The current seems fine for "life-endangering stupidity."

Look at all that shiny stuff ain't they pretty

[up] That's what I mean. It was changed back to its original definition.

That said, the wording was a little ambiguous, so I'll make it more specific.

This thread's been falling by the wayside for a week... anyone else want to weigh in on the suggestions? Or add suggestions of their own?

What do you mean by the definition was changed? It wasn't established there was misuse caused by the name or confusion with the old definition and the discussion stalled when it became apparent how much work it would take, coupled with an unanswered question of redundancy with other tropes.

No action was taken and the definition is still "life ending stupidity".

[up] I assumed the change was made based on the crowner (and the last couple pages of that thread) and that it was simply a matter of changing links to the trope accordingly.

That said, I get that there's a difference between whether or not other tropers agree with me on the name and whether or not they agree with me on what makes a good image.

I still don't get what current image is supposed to portray. It looks like she just came across the signs.
