I assume we're not getting the remaining Apo Servants until the collab. SSR Semiramis, SR Chiron, SR or SSR Achilles, nobody cares about Avicebron, but I guess he has to be there since he was datamined too. Also presumably welfare Sieg because, once again, datamined.

Okay I just saw the Karna vs Sieg fight, not the episodes just that specific fight.

WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?!?!?!?!?!

Goddamn it was constant flashing, lights, explosions, it hurt my eyes. The constant scenery destruction totally wrecked all sense of placement I had no idea where the characters were supposed to be it confused me, where they on the ground, are they flying, are they jumping, what? No sword slash felt weight either, no impact at all.

Though I think Karna was trying to cause an Impact, it was like the big climactic action sequence of the Boruto movie but like really, really bad. These people were so intent on creating something so visually spectacular they ended up making something incomprehensible & generally hard to follow.

All flash, no substance basically.

I kind of agree.

The animators were so focused on making it look cool they forgot they had to actually show us what was happening.

Karna vs. Sieg was the best anime fight of the year bar none and a fitting paean to the Hero of Charity.

As for this latest episode, Mordred and Kairi continued being great to the end, while Semi was as wonderful as ever. It's a pity that the show cut some of her prior characterization moments, but as long as they nail the kiss at the end I'm satisfied. FGO WHEN? As for Jeanne's Mindbreak Doujin, I assume it's supposed to be triggering Jeanne's guilt at involving Sieg in the war and maybe shame at loving him in particular unlike everyone else she's met and aided? A fair bit of that got truncated from what I heard, so that scene unfortunately didn't have as much of an impact as I wanted. Tetsu Inada and Tsuruoka Satoshi are heroes, though.

I swear it was like a Micheal Bay movie. Night constant explosions, breakneck editing, & hard to follow choreography.

Its also like the Man of Steel movie where while the destruction of Metropolis & Superman fighting Zodd's forces was visually spectacular, because it was so constant & spastic it ended up being mind-numbing.

Like people give DBZ a good amount of shit for being all about explosions & ki blasts but at least whenever DBZ did an explosion they'd let you breath it in so you can take in all the majesty & comprehend it.

[up] At least the action is comprehensible there. Also Kai man, quicker paced there.

I think the fact this fight stars a character I very much dislike beating a character I actually like makes me not feel as excited.

Is this what people felt when Shirou beat Gilgamesh?

Yeah.

In fact, he can be summoned as a Saber in F/GO.

Though he's about the worst Saber ever, even including Sumanai.

Well I have him as a caster is he worst or better than that even if he worst I still probably get and use him Gilles look better as saber.

I just gotta ask does anybody else just laugh at Gilles chameleon eyes when I look at him all I can think about is that tuff puppy villain chameleon.

I was actually talking about Sumani not Gilles.

Dragon slayer deserves better especially a cooler looking NP.

That's it, I'm just putting Jeanne's Apo rendition into Base-Breaking Character. Because right now, I can see the two camps of "Still a great character on her own" or "Apo!Jeanne sucks because she's a cardboard girlfriend." (I said Apo!Jeanne, because I'm sure people are still fine with GO!Jeanne and Extella!Jeanne)

I'm still not sure who to blame.

Also, who here was Rooting For The Red Faction?

I sorta petered off at episode 11 out of sheer disinterest and screaming "why are you doing what you're doing?!?" but if it weren't for TVT, I would be thinking the Red Faction is at least no worse than the Black. I mean, the Black Faction literally allied with Nazis and while they eventually turned on them after getting their power, this is literally the exact plot of Red Skull in the MCU. And then you have them enslaving homunculi and general ass-hattery, and Kairi being incredibly charismatic and... yeah. Just seems like Grey-and-Gray Morality to me.

The Yggdmillenia are an old, established family of mages, so, by definition, they kind of have to be a bunch of amoral asshats who see human life as worthless. So I was extremely pleased so see their patriarch die and their mansion laid to waste (sad that Gordes survived though).

As a result, I was rooting for Red until Amakusa took over (well, I suppose he was really in command from the start). I'm not on board with his "salvation", because besides invoking the Third Magic, I'm still not sure exactly what he's doing and what the result would be if he were successful. If the series explained this, I missed that.

(Not to mention, as someone mentioned before, if he actually did succeed and created a utopian paradise, Akasha would "prune" the timeline as being a dead end anway.)

Now... I suppose I'm rooting for Jeanne and Sieg, if anyone. Sieg may be boring and flat, but at least he has the right intentions and is fighting for a just cause.

I mean the Clock Tower is no better, which is what the Red Faction was made for. So they could get the Greater Grail themselves.

Strange/Fake has this with Magi in America working with the Government against the Clock Tower too.

Mordred vs Semiramis looked great. Mordred and Kairi final moments and Mo-tan realization of what she really wanted were amazing. Best death scene.

Man, Jeanne sure fell for a stupid trick. "What are you going to show me... my mother? okay.... war? sure.... Gilles murder castle? whatever.... Sieg? OMG, MIND BLOWN!!!!1!!!ONE!!!1!!"

Sieg just makes everything worse, even by association. Jeanne should have way more important things on her mind than cardboard-kun.

[up][up][up]Well, the whole big twist is that Black Team is set up as the villains, until Amakusa takes over halfway through.

The rooting is less because Red Faction's actions were just, but more that the more 'liked' characters seem to be on Red Faction. Whereas Black Faction has several Base-Breaking Character.

Though it's rare to see someone root a faction BECAUSE it's on a just cause. A lot would forget about just causes and root for whichever side has more entertainment values.

I guess Higashide could count as some sort of Scapegoat Creator by now...

Well, it's part of Jeanne's character that she regrets nothing about her actual life and would instantly sacrifice her own life even for the guy who had her killed.
