Nah. Implementing rollback is hard. Look at Street Fighter V for what happens when you screw it up. Converting a delay-based system into rollback from scratch is even harder.
Looks like the next balance patch is set for the end of August. Still no date for the rollback beta announced.
It’s funny how most of the FighterZ streamers I follow took a break from the game after the rollback announcement, figuring “hey, the internet’s about to improve, so we’ll just take a break and then really get into it when the netcode doesn’t suck.”
But now the streamers are starting to come back, not because rollback is actually here, but because it’s been a literal year of them not engaging the game and and relying on Namco Bandai / Arcsys / etc to get this done doesn’t seem worth it any more.
As Lythero said: “we’ll all be dead if we wait for rollback.”

Looks like a new universal change is if you're down to your last character everyone can now combo a level 1 into a level 3.
Rollback?

Oh, hey, that was one of the changes I was thinking about.
Doing some testing and found that Level 1 gives Ginyu a free Body Change when close to the corner now.
Edit: SELF DESTRUCT HITS IN COMBOS NOW HOLY SHIT
Edit 2: The damage if you combo into it is unfortunately much less (seems to be about 3500).

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Still crazy to me that when they announced Rollback Netcode, they did it while saying they had no plans for balance patches to come with it. Now, over a year later, FighterZ has had TWO balance patches and still no Rollback. Straight-up comical.
I just realized it's been over a year since Rollback was announced.
At this point, why not just make a sequel and be done with it
Uni catRollback Beta finally happening. On Steam November 30th to December 10th.
I don’t believe you. It’s impossible. These are but the musings of prophets long since disproved!

Secret SignatureWhat new characters should the base roster of DBFZ 2 have?
I feel like who I want from a story perspective would be Dr. Gero, since he's 21's husband.
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy. There's honestly a good amount who should get in. Personally speaking...
- Chi-Chi
- Tao Pai-Pai
- King Piccolo (w/ Tambourine and Drum)
- Raditz
- Zarbon (w/ Dadoria)
- Dr. Gero (/w 19)
- Dabura
- Super Buu
- Pan (w/ Giru)
- Majuub
- Super 17
- Omega Shenron
- Bergamo (w/ Basil & Lavender)
- Ribrianne (w/ Rozie & Kakunsa)
- Dyspo
- Toppo
- Gamma 1 & 2
I could also see Arale and Beelzebub being added if they want guests. Also, maybe they could replace the Sparking mechanic with a universal install mechanic, where every character gets a transformation under certain conditions, like SSB Goku becoming Ultra Instinct or Adult Gohan becoming Beast.

We are definitely getting the Gammas (as a duo or separate, prob the former), Orange Piccolo and Beast Gohan. If they actually take their time, we might even get someone from Daima.
Makes u wonder if they would actually rework Kid Goku to his Daima version instead of GT. We do lose SSJ 4 that way unless they keep Gogeta.

Uni catI think the current roster is really solid. If I had to add one character I'd pick Toppo because I really enjoyed him in the TOP.
I could see Orange Piccolo getting his own character slot. But Beast Gohan would probably replace Adult Gohan's Level 3 Super since he didn't have an extended fight.
Dragon Ball Daima will probably add a bunch of new characters, so I could see a DBFZ 2 adding some to the base roster for advertising purposes.
The Goku count is a concern. In total it's 5 Gokus, the most expendable IMO is Blue (i don't find him that interesting myself)
I dont mind fusions, they are their own thing
Uni catAll fighting games are made better with even higher, more copious swarms of grapplers, so I say Zarbon just because he would totally have another command grab LVL 3.
Seriously, though, I like that instead of trying to stuff every single conceivable character into the game like most other licensed anime games do, Fighter Z took the time to really look into the characters and their history to craft playstyles for each of them, and outside of the core cast picked specific characters that could represent either major time periods of the series or particular playstyles very well. It does mean that several characters, some highly requested, went unrepresented, but I think it had a net positive on the game as a whole.
But if I had my wishlist of characters I want to see in a future game, it'd probably be:
- Goten & Trunks (not fused): This is something I've wanted since before their recent manga storyline, and something I especially want now after their recent manga storyline.
- Moro
- Ribrianne (or the Kamikaze Fireballs as a group with Ribrianne as their leader).
- Gas
- Tao Pai Pai
- Auta Magetta
- Either Towa, Mira or Fu.
I really want to say Cabba, since I like the character, but it's kind of a thing that Cabba hasn't really gotten the moments to shine and distinguish himself as a fighter like other characters have. He's the most generic one on the original Universe 6 vs Universe 7 team, and Caulifla and Kale both get way more interesting concepts in battle than he does.
Also, the fact that Fighter Z never gave us a Base Goku Vs. Piccolo Dramatic Finish is a crime. At least we got Kakarot gloriously reanimating the end of that fight this year.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Probably lack of a destroyed martial arts stage. I know they kinda stop caring with the DBS Dramatic Finishes, as they took place in random locations. It's a crime we never got a TOP stage.
They better have better stage selection in a sequel. The original is fine but it's weird they never made more. Is that a thing with Arcsys game-engine?
Uni catOh my god, I just realized. If Fighter Z 2 comes out, there's a non-zero chance you could fight a team of 3 Kid Gokus. DB Kid Goku, GT Kid Goku, and Daima Kid Goku.
I made a character concept video for Toppo:
They should add 23rd Budokai Chi-Chi and King Piccolo as DLC
CHI-CHI
A martial arts expert who uses no ki blasts or projectiles, but is a master of close-corners combat. Like Master Rsohi, she can't fly thus can't use "Super Dash" but instead uses a super jump that allows her to either jump at extreme heights or use her agility to perform a dash that imitates "Super Dash" but is not as strong.
Her normal attacks are fast and varied, her special attacks such as "Dragon Dance" have many different techniques depending on the buttons, and her Lvl. 1 Super Attack "Red Blazing Aura" increases her damage and allows her to perform additional techniques with some attacks, but it drains the ki gauge. You can revert back to normal by doing the attack again.
KING PICCOLO
The original incarnation and parent of Piccolo. He does not use the mystic attack, but he has incredible reach due to his massive size (which does, however, make him slower). He can summon either Cymbal, Tambourine, and Drum with "Come, my child..." to aid him in battle till they are defeated. "Explosive Demon Wave" is like Goku (Super Saiyan)'s "Super Kamehameha" and his Lvl. 3 Super Attack "Hyper Explosive Demon Wave" can cover the entire screen, but it has an unseeable weakness.

Anyone starting to think they lied about it to just scrounge up attention for the game?
