The reason it still seems wrong even if Dick's depicted as getting into it later is because it's using A Man Is Always Eager to justify Double Standard Rape: Female on Male. That's pretty much the go-to defense for why men can't be raped: "Men always want sex. They just might not realize it at first."

I don't know how many Batman animated movies there have been between Assault on Arkham and this, but the two I've seen (Assault on Arkham and The Killing Joke) both involved one of Batman's female characters being really DTF one of the male characters and things not working out in the end.

And we're recycling this story again? Is there really nothing else they can think to do with these characters aside from random shipping?

I'm not even going to touch the sexual assault thing.

[up][up][up]The level of professional commitment needed from several parties to work together on a standalone DTV or comics miniseries is much lesser than that needed to pull off an ongoing animated series successfully. Not to mention several mayor players from BTAS and TNBA have long moved on or even died.

Besides, with a movie or comic, all you need is the always relatively willing DC Movies video line or the editorial itself. With an animated series, who are you going to push it on? Cartoon Network, which will do their damn best to sink anything not titled Teen Titans Go? Netflix, who haven't even fully spoken on Young Justice Season 3 yet?

It really does. I didn't even touch on the fact that Harley appears to be working at a strip club.

[up][up][up][up] [up]Oh, right, same "No, it wasn't all bad" stuff So B pulled with Talia. And I bet at the end of a day, it will cause less controversy then Tony Stark making joke about Prima Nocta. Also makes "You Go Girl" scene where Harley stops guy from touching her butt a tad hypocritical.

So, if this is a comedy movie, have we seen any good jokes so far? I don't see anything close to "I have a butler" line from Dark.

Isn't the Floronic Man an old Flash villain? I know he's been connected to Ivy since the 80's or so, and Neil Gaimain connected them both (along with the Black Orchid) to Swamp Thing as well (both Pamela Isley and Alec Holland studied under Jason Woodrue).

I'm not wowed by the voice of Harley or anything, but I do think her having a deeper voice kind of makes sense in this instance, because she's older and voices get deeper with age. On top of that I can picture her kind of pitching it up for the Joker before and just not caring enough to do that now. I also could see her picking up smoking.

Anyway I would agree the preview hasn't convinced me to watch it,but it's not voice I'm put off by,it's how they are trying to make it look like batman the animated series but it's coming across as a poor imitation

Funny thing is there is a lot of Rule 34 of Harley and Nightwing. Some with her sexually assaulting him.

This also reminds me of the fact that Harley will eventually have two twin granddaughters who are master gymnast in the future...like Nightwing.

If this is going where I think it's going then...LMAO.

[up]

This is likely set after Tim killed Joker, since Harley is after to have a normal life.

About Harley not having a high pitch: she didn't talk like that either before she meant the Joker as shown by Mad Love. I guess this is suppose to symbolize her wanting a normal life.

Harley fell down a very deep pit if I recall correctly and remained in hiding for a long time,so emerging soon after his death makes no sense to me,

They explicitly stated in the sneak peak that this is not in continuity with BTAS, so it's not set anywhere along the BTAS-Batman Beyond timeline.

[up][up][up]

They could have just said that Bruce and Dick let stay hidden to live a normal life.

[up][up]

That's disappointing, as I was hoping for Dick to be the grandfather of the Dee Dee twins. :(

As for Dick being depicted as "eager", that is kinda within his character. So I don't mind.

Harley is already a gymnast (or at least as skilled as one), so the Dee Dee twins wouldn't need to be born from that route.

Were it in the same continuity, that is.

I didn't see any part of the sneak peek that referenced "sexual assault." Harley jumps on top of Nightwing, they're both giggling, Batman walks in, she hops off.

Harley's voice isn't working for me, but maybe I need to hear it in the film proper.

It looks like Harley's working at a Gotham equivalent of a Hooter's.

The part where she's in full costume looks like just a case of Not What It Looks Like where Harley's just being too madly playful with a person she's got under her power.

The bit where she's in underwear looks a bit more problematic. We'll have to wait for context until we see how both scenes relate to each other, but it seems obvious the fully clothed scene comes after the other, since no way Batman will leave Dick tied to the bed.

That just made me realize that both Batman and Joker's partners are gymnasts. Hmm...wonder if that was intentional.

He's talking about Harley tying him to bed and trying to have sex with him.

This part:

  • Nightwing: (handcuffed to the bed) Don't be getting any funny ideas.
  • Harley: (already undressed, turns off the light) Too late.

The context makes it sound like Harley's about to jump Dick's Nightwing despite him stating that he does not consent.

I suspect Harley might be working undercover as part of the investigation or something.

I mean, who in Gotham's underworld would be stupid enough as to hire the Joker's ex to serve tables while teasing customers with sex? That's an open invitation to have yourself and everybody in your staff killed by laughing gas before the week's over.
