The page for Mainstream Obscurity is listed as a work which is critically acclaimed and known, but isn't watched/read/played/listened to much. The concept is fine, but it's heavily being misused. While there are several legitimate examples, such as Charlie Chaplin or Shirley Temple, many are either bands which are "only known for their hits" which can describe most artists with a few exceptions (The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd), or are works which are very much legitametely famous that millions have seen, and some even contain really bad lies.

Going through the page the following examples should be cut IMO:

Anime: Neon Genesis Evangelion

Art: Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Picasso, van Gogh, Andy Warhol

Film: Citizen Kane, Godzilla, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Old Yeller, Mad Max, E.T, King Kong, Tim Burton Batman, Friday The 13th, Robo Cop

Literature: A Christmas Carol, Sherlock Holmes, 1984, The Catcher In The Rye, The Lord Of The Rings, The Hobbit, Shakespeare, fairy tales, Edgar Allan Poe, Max and Ruby

TV: Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, The CW, Friends, Twin Peaks, Monty Python, Star Trek, The X-Factor, Hannah Montana, Malcolm In The Middle, Doctor Who

Music: Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Stravinsky, Wagner, Copland, Holst, Glen Miller, Sex Pistols, Radiohead, Iron Maiden, Metallica, System of a Down, Slipknot, Lana Del Rey, Skrillex, Avicii, Wiz Khalifa, Spice Girls, Flo Rida, Bob Seger

Religion: The Bible

Video games: The sections on old and new games, Earthbound, GTA, Metal Gear, Chrono Trigger, Street Fighter II

Animation: Pre-2000s cartoons, Bambi, Fantasia, Pink Panther

Others: Neil Armstrong, Thomas Jefferson

Thoughts? I will likely create a Short term thread for this, just want to see if anyone's with me on this.
