I'm extremely excited at the possibility.

If it's going to be focused on adapting the games, I'm for it.

If it's going to be focused on the film universe, meh.

Moviebob is the only person I know who thinks the movies not adaptating the games was a good idea.

Any way could be interesting.

[up][up] In the grand scheme of things both the overarching narratives of the games and the movies devolved into total bullshit. Two distinctly different strands of bullshit, but still both crap.

RE 7 mostly being a standalone story was a good idea since it let them get away from most of the story.

RE's overarching narrative ended at 5 and was kind of an underwhelming ending. 6 was like, "Are you still here? Story, you're over. You've been over. Why are we still talking about this?"

The game overarching narrative might have become total bullshit but it was entertaining bullshit

Anyways, casting predictions?

I liked 6 in spite of its flaws.

It's partly why I gave Final Chapter a chance.

The films got off the rails with the second film, but really, the games were getting ridiculous around Resident Evil 4 and becoming more action-focused. It's almost like the films just followed suit. I liked 6 for finally bringing Leon and Chris's stories together, even if Chris underwent some bizarre Laser-Guided Amnesia.

I think Resident Evil could work as a Netflix series but it'd have to be a miniseries. And since creating faithful adaptions of the source material just isn't in vogue for video games or comic books these days, I honestly think they'd be better off doing what 7 did and trying to create their own story.

They could just take the basic events of the games but (e.g. The mansion incident and Racoon city have to happen) but make changes... that is if this really is real and not just fake news.

I miss when "fake news" was simply called a hoax
