Needs Help: Mother Makes You King

This suggestion◊ flopped in the Image Suggestion crowner. Any other ideas?

I'm rather fine with the current. It has the king, and his mother, and since she's closer to the camera, it suggests to me that she's more important, especially since the king is so young.

As someone who's never watched Game of Thrones, the current is JAFAAC if you ask me. It doesn't tell she's his mother, and it doesn't tell that he could not have become king without his mother's efforts. Which is the same problem with the rejected pic in Image Suggestions Berrenta has linked to.

Didn't notice that until now, actually... the picture that's on the page right now was put up in the interim between 1.1 originally being suggested in the Image Suggestion thread and when it was crownered. Usually that's a reason to start a separate thread anyway, but looks like everyone just missed it.

Prefer the current.

I'm not sure that this can be adequately pictured without a lampshade, so barring that actually happening, I'm fine to put a decent caption on either the current or the suggestion and call it good.

Meh, current is passable. Wish the lighting was a little better though.

They're both pretty similar, though I'm not sure which I think is better. They both have their plusses and minuses:

• The current is a much better composition of the two, thus making it more aesthetically pleasing, while in the other they're both sort of cut off at the waist with a basically irrelevant third character (the soldier) in the back.
• The OP makes the queen mother look more authoritative (she's both standing and he looks less regal without a crown), and from that distance their genetic relation is more obvious since they both have the same hair color.

I prefer the OP suggestion for reasons listed . The composition of the current is not as much better as it is less clear.
