The ability for humans to express themselves through creativity has always been that which divided them from their animal counterparts. Art, the written word, and even the spoken tales handed down from the older generation to the younger make up a shared culture of the world. However these great works and the creativity that inspired them are powerful forces, ones that quickly drew the attention of the Omoric Empire, a power that spanned multiple planets with the use of magics and technology that defied human explanation. They fell upon the world like a wave with no invention man had created being able to even halt their deadly advance. The war was ended in a year, with only small pockets of human resistance left to put up even a small resistance to their overwhelming might.

After its defeat of the human race the Omoric set about on a dual purpose, to improve the Earth and to destroy any form of self expression that might give rise to the thing it feared the most. Slowly people became conditioned to accept the world, even without their expression they could at least be safe, protected from the ills of the world by an Empire that named itself as just. And within another year mankind was fully brought into the fold of the Empire, another loyal race consumed by its power. People lived dry and tired lives, still allowed to their emotions but unable to create. Buildings were made in the approved way that the Empire allowed, jobs were given that took most of the peoples time so they would do little more then work, eat, and sleep.

However mankind is a tricky beast, because its main power is to adapt in order to rule the land. And from the magic that the Omoric Empire used to support its power base came a mutation among those born under the rule of the overpowering force. A select few were born with the power of Creation, the ability to make things by tapping into a power that was opposite in every way to the Omoric powers of Emptiness. Fueled by their imaginations and a desire to see the world return from the fallen state it had entered those who can wield the power gather together, drawn by the light that gleams off of them. When banded together they can perform feats that rival the power of the Omoric machines and mages.

And bit by bit they imagine a better world where man can live once more, because the life offered by the Empire is no more then a march toward death.

So thats the basic backstory of the setting. You will take the role of the next generation (player ages can range from 14-22) of humans, Creators. Basically people who have the power to draw energy from a plane of energy through thought to create wonders and horrors in order to battle against the Omoric Empire forces. This of course puts a strain on the person, and overuse of the power results in horrible pain for the Creators. Like attempting to write multiple novels at the same time. The more people there are however the easier it is to create something amazing, collaborative works.

I will go ahead and post a draft character sheet just in case this gains interest and you want to jump on the ship. I think a small group of at least five players would be perfect to start, but if there is a large demand I might expand that.

  • Name

  • Age

  • Gender (male, female, etc.)

  • School of Thought Basically the thing that the character is best at creating. Could be works of fiction or something more mechanically based like an inventor. So one with a vivid imagination might prefer to summon ghouls or robots. Another might coat themselves in armor or a costume and take the offensive themselves. Or maybe they stay behind and create powerful machines to use. A school of thought reflects the Creator quite a bit, and great works often drain one quite quickly.

  • Personality An overview of who they are. How they think and feel.

  • Backstory Where they grew up, from what view did they look at the war. Any important information that applies to your characters past should go here.

  • Physical Appearance A picture or description of what your character looks like.

If you have any questions about the prompt of suggestions for things that might need to be changed feel free to give them.
