They are distinct tropes, so you are confusing them yourself.
- Asskicking Equals Authority is for someone that's so powerful they become an authority fugure. Authority Equals Asskicking is an authority figure who's more powerful than one of lower rank.
- For Redemption Equals Death and Death Equals Redemption, they vary depending on which comes first.

There are currently at least two pairs like this:
As a person with scientific background, I cannot help but get confused by these titles because they're basically saying the same thing.
What they actually mean seems to be more like X Means Y or X Implies Y — i.e. a one-way rather than two-way relationship. An example of such an unambiguous pair is Good Is Dumb and Dumb Is Good.
