So, I've had some bus and train traveling time the past Weekend and on a impulse decided to binge this series first few episodes.
I'm now stuck between deciding if this show is really good or if I simply went at a 'Lethal Weapon TV Series' with such a low expectations that every surprise is a pleasant one. (Both? Both sound good.)
I mean, yes, its obvious a series that runs on Narm Charm but yet...there is some surprising things in there. For one, the cast is far more diverse than I'd have expected. For another, it doesn't seem to hide from some things I'd have expected them to gloss over, like actually showing how terrifying it is for a couple of african-american kids in a nice car it is to be pulled aside by a cop. Or how the cop father of one of them is fully aware of how bad this might have gotten.
That's not exactly topics I expected a cop show that runs on explosions and crazy to even approach.
And finally, I actually start to like this Riggs more than Gibson's. About every time he affectionately calls Murthaugh "Rog!" and goes to do something crazy. Movie Riggs was very Gibson but this one...is more interesting.
I'll probably continue watching this for now, is anyone else here?
