Misused: Failure Is The Only Option

Something that I noticed a while ago is that pretty much everyone uses Failure Is the Only Option as, well, just that - a trope that conveys there being no option other than failing. However, if one were to actually look at the trope's description, they'd quickly notice that the trope is actually intended to cover a premise behind the whole series, rather than individual situations. Which means that everyone uses the trope for everything except its intended purpose.

At this point, I feel that it might be better to just change the description and expand the trope to fit its unintended usage. What do you think?
