Sure they call it "Snakeboarding" but c'mon, those are giant beyblades.
See how much BS the other fighting games have to put up with...
Meanwhile in Street Fighter...
- Hadokens
- Sonic Booms (that are slow and not very noisy)
- Psycho Power
- Blanka, mostly Blanka
- Dhalsim
- Ninjas
And in Tekken...
- The Devil Gene
- Lasers
- Fighting animals
- Humanoid robot
- Vatican representative with star power
- Akuma
- Ninjas
And in King of Fighters...
- Petite girl who does Sumo
- Illegal scientific experiments
- Martial artists who can stop kill sat lasers
- Characters surviving an exploding space station
- CANON guest fighters from other time periods and franchises
- Creating evil clone armies of the same character
- That character who got cloned never gets into trouble with the authorities
- Everyone can tell who the real guy is
- All clones just "deactivate" after kill switch is pressed... no mention of piles of corpses
- Ninjas
And then we get into the weird lore with stuff like Mortal Kombat, Guilty Gear, Blazblue, and basically every anime fighter ever, etc. etc.
And yet, there are always Ninjas.
One Strip! One Strip!Ninjas everywhere.
Despite them not being ones for direct combat, they still should be able to handle a 1v1 situation.
So I guess ninjas aren't that much BS is fighting games.
Though telling everyone you're a ninja is a bit dubious. But not much different from being a famous hitman. Which would still be a bad idea to reveal your identity as. Especially in a public event.
There's actually already a ninja in Pokken. Croagunk
Not only that, ninja in ARMS are visible to the point that there's a college just for that.

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!BUT Is it a hidden ninja college?!
The entrance exam is to find it.
"Calling all ninja aspirants: Ninja College does exist! In fact, our best student is promoting us right now in the ARMS tournament. We're not going to leave you an address and phone number though. If you find us, you're in!"
"By the way, that stage you see in the tournament, that's not our place. That's just a set we built so fans can watch Ninjara compete without leading them to the college itself."

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes! The whole fake college is built out of plywood and has nothing inside. The windows and doors are painted on.
Now that I think about it, ARMS has turned my opinion around on it. There's a lot more depth and variety than I thought.
In the tradition of r/changemyview, I give Nintendo a Δ.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Does Biff have ARMS?
It seems like he does. He's got the coil pattern on his arms, at any rate, just like Ribbon Girl in that pic.
Man, it's kinda weird seeing ARMS with normal proportions and hands, considering how often we see them uncoiled.

Where there's life, there's hope. While the game is not out, let's talk about character tiers!
But seriously, why does Ninjara have an unreadable dash in a game based on reading the opponent and predicting their movements?
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes! Why does one have a dog? Why can one contort his hitbox?

Basically, everyone seem to have broken stuff except some broken stuff are still better than others.
For example, Spring Man's parry is an objectively worse version of Minmin's parry while dashing, in exchange for the additional abilities of Spring Man to parry after blocking and his comeback mechanic.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes! In most cases like this, it's only broken until people learn how to deal.
For example, Barq is a pest but I've seen him go down with just one punch, and he doesn't get up for a long while.

That makes it sound like Byte could be the worst character in the game... since his gameplan would be to let Barq flank the enemy so Barq can't be knocked out easily, but if Byte does that he won't have access to his springboard. Losing Barq temporarily also kills his offense and defense options.
However, the good thing about the opponent committing to punch at Barq is that most Medium to Heavy arms recover quite slowly so that's just asking for punishment. And if (I predict) Byte's super instantly resurrects Barq, then baiting the opponent to hit Barq and then supering in response seems like a reasonable idea.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!I see Byte and Barq functioning similarly to Rosalina & Luma in Smash: Weaker without the assist character, but still capable of dishing out punishment.
The last one isn't too ridiculous. Plenty of people join competitions to promote their shit.
