Jon

"Oh. Uhh, thanks, I guess," Jon said, testing a one and two random swings on the water. She's right. The sword swings around it's striking through thin air, feeling no pressure from the water. "Woooaaaah... neat!" He made a few more swings with it, feeling the weight of the weapon before feeling its blade with his hand; being very careful to watch the edges(this isn't a replica, after all). "So, how much dramoi'' does this cost? Eighty? Hundreds? And is this, like, common military-grade stuff, or, like, exceptionally crafted by a renowned weaponsmith or something?"

Even as he did so, his ears perked up at the mention of being trained by a certified Captain of the Guards. "Oh, man. Sweet!" Usually, this sort of thing only happens in fiction, but here he is now, preparing to train his body to save the world in real life. People like him can only dream of doing this stuff.

Now if there was only a montage music playing in the background during his training, that would be perfect. He briefly wondered if the Atlanteans have something the equivalent of a radio around here...

"So, how many actual hits do you reckon I can make to the Captain of the freaking Guard? Or how many hits I can take? Oh shit, better start thinking up some surprise strategies and plan ahead..." Jon said to Fienna, too excited at the prospect of becoming a legit underwater warrior.

The oracle's house

Taera smiled, listening to Jonah's explanation. "Even without magic, the surface world continues to intrigue me. Sadly, we are forever stuck in the form of fish— transformation magic tears at the soul and makes the spirit unstable... I would never survive transforming into a human again," She sighed, looking at him. "And we cannot leave the city because its magic sustains our lives now. We have drunk on the magic of life for thousands of years, that is why our situation is so dire. We must either return magic to the world, or we will perish if we ever try to leave." She gestured for Ally to approach as well, entering the glowing blue room.

When they entered, they could see a round room, with runed carvings all over the walls, and what looked like a blue glowing aura erupting from the floor and ceiling in the center of the room, centering on a brightly-glowing blue orb that sat motionless in the center of the room. Where it touched the floor and ceiling, veins of blue light seemed to run around the openings. Taera's eyes widened and she approached the orb, running her hands over the orb's surface and sighing. "As oracle of this city, I have been entrusted with one of the nexuses of magic in Atlantis. The other one lies at the center of the city, behind the passageway we cannot access. This orb holds much power."

She turned towards Jonah and Ally (if Ally followed). "Grab the orb in your hands. Feel the magic flow through your bodies. It may be alarming, but the orb will tell you if you are powerful enough to wield the mighty power of magic. But you must be careful, for if your spirit is too weak it can overwhelm you." She backed up from the orb, watching to see what the two would do.

Outside the oracle's house

Fienna fought back a smile creeping onto her face. She thought it was somewhat cute how much he enjoyed the sword Taera gave her. However, she managed to keep her stoic expression and began to lead Jon out of the house and towards the training arena. She turned towards Jon, when he asked how much it was. "It is a gift from my sister. You would be wise to accept it." When he pondered how well he could do against the captain, Fienna began frowning.

"You could never beat the captain of the guard," she stated simply. "He has been training all his life. You have never wielded a sword before. So if you want to impress me, try not to get slashed up too badly," she muttered. She turned back to face forward, a stern look on her face melting slightly into a worried look that she tried to hide.

Jonah soaked in all the info being deposited into his mind. This was one of two magical nexuses... nexus... nexi(?) in the city. So this oracle was kind of a big deal. It was all very fascinating. He could be the first person in the modern world to write a thesis on magic that wasn't a joke. He could be a wizard! So many doors were opening up around him. Healing magic alone could be a revolution. He could hide magic and just live as a miracle surgeon, secretly sustaining the patients through magic during the most dangerous procedures. And that was only the lowest level of ambitions Jonah was cultivating in his head.

Hesitating for only a moment, Jonah took the orb into his hand and let the magic envelop him.

The magical nexus

As soon as Jonah touched the orb, it began to glow brighter (if that was possible) and a brilliant blue light began to envelop him and the orb. What seemed to be blue lightning shot out from the openings on the ceiling and floor, shocking him and causing intense pain. However, if he tried to let go of the orb he would find that he could not. He could barely move. Taera's smile faded and she gasped.

The magical lightning began to intensify and a strange thing happened. As it shocked Jonah, the pain began to subside and instead he began to feel a rush, an exciting, intense burst of energy that made his heart begin to race and his blood boil. It felt amazing, and as this began to happen, the lightning began to swirl around him. Just as it began, the energy stopped, and the orb stopped glowing. Taera swam up to him.

"Are you all right?" she asked, worriedly. "That magical energy could have annihilated you..."

Jon

Not exactly the answer Jon was looking for, but oh well. Still, an oracle's gift must be the equivalent to that of an ancient relic, right? And here he is, Jon, using a sword that probably has a long, ancient history of its creation and uses, who's probably older than him or even his great-great-grandparents.

... Either that, or it's just an ordinary military grade sword that he just deluded himself to believing it to be the ultimate weapon of ultimate destiny.

As to Fienna stating at how vastly out of match Jon is compared to someone who'd trained their entire life for this, he shrugged. "... Yeeeeaaaaah, you might be right. Still! You might never know unless you try,"

Then, listening to what Fienna has to say further, he couldn't help but smirk and beamed. "Wait! So you're saying you'll forgive me if I impress you enough? Sweet!" He made a small enthusiastic 'Aw yeah' fist bump into the air(well, water). "Thanks! Now I'm even more pumped up to actually beat the guy up!"

The probability of that happening is probably less than 1%, if any, but he pushed that thought at the back of his mind. As that one character in Star Wars once said , 'Never tell me the odds!'

Jonah had no sooner put his hand on the orb when he became enveloped in blue light. It was almost beautiful. An instant later, pain. He started to let out a pained sound that would be screaming if he was capable of opening his mouth wide enough. He wanted to let go so badly, but it wouldn't work. Why didn't it work?! If he had to draw a comparison, Jonah would only be able to use the stories his grandfather told him, as he was fortunate enough to have never experienced something like this before.

As the terrifyingly unpleasant event continued, Jonah could feel the pain turn into... excitement? It was an intense high, only made more strong by the contrast with the earlier pain. He had never felt so alive. Did other people ever feel like this? Was Jonah missing out this whole time? If Jonah was a religious man, like his grandfather, he would have described this as an intensely spiritual event.

Just as he was starting to get adjusted enough to really enjoy this, the experience ended. He wanted to go back into that sensation again. One day... one day... just calm down... deep breaths... in and out. OK, his heart rate was starting to normalize a bit.

As he was calming down, Jonah plotted out his response to Taera's question. Even in his excited state, he retained the presence of mind to not give in to his impulses by answering without thinking. Saying things without thinking got him into about as much trouble as his temper. After a minute, Jonah, still trembling a bit from the experience, answered "I... I think I'm alright? I t-take it the p-pain wasn't supposed to happen... but it was really g-good after that stopped. Even if I could've d-died, I didn't die, so there's no p-point dwelling on it. Done bun can't be undone, after all. More importantly, what does this mean for my ability to use magic?"

He really was very concerned over his brush with death, but he knew to hide it. When he expressed his feelings about mortality, it normally led to talk about it. And talk about death led to thought about death. He was determined to avoid going down that path in his mind again. Just don't think about it. Don't ever talk about it. Just. Keep. Living.

A. Kikuchi, Oracle's Chamber.

The tensions between Jon and the oracle Taera resolved to something more manageable. Thank god. This expedition would be a lot harder if we had to deal with this drama the whole time.

But more immediate to me: with these things aside that left the issue of the complete lack of combat ability between Jon, Jonah, and myself. We were to begin training at once, since we would need the skill, but before that, I needed to answer one simple question:

Weaponry or magic?

I stood there deep in thought for a number of minutes, weighing my options. Either sounded fascinating to learn, and I might have requested some of both if I didn't regard it unlikely that we'd have the time to justify not specializing. From the sound of it, magic was much more versatile, but...it was apparently harder at this age? That might be a problem, especially since I'd likely need to learn sooner rather than later...

Oh shit, we were leaving. I didn't even realize.

I darted without much thought after Jonah and Taera, or rather through the glowing blue door I assumed Jonah and Taera had taken. This is what I get for not paying attention. Oh well. Magic it was, then. I entered in time to see Jonah put his hand to a blue orb, which upon contact grew yet more luminous and produced no shortage of crackling blue lightning engulfing the young man's body.

Oh dear.

Oh.

Well. He seemed fine now, at least.

"You...mean that?" I checked nonetheless, and then added, "Uh, sorry, I was a bit distracted. I didn't miss too much, did I?"

Oracle's House

He was calming down. Deep breaths. Very good. Oh, this was the most exhausting thing he had done in a while, his body was working overtime to calm him down. As he continued regaining his grasp on breathing at a normal pace, he heard Ally, who he somehow missed coming with them, ask if he was actually fine.

It was a fair question to ask, considering how he was twitching from all the adrenaline his body was pumping into him. Well, just say what comes to mind. He was to beat to think anymore about his words. Jonah said to her "Yeah... I'm fine... it's a real rush. Good thing I wasn't grievously injured and let's not talk about the other possibility anymore. Oh sh... I don't have any burns or anything on me, do I?! I don't want to be branded for life like he was!" Jonah started checking himself all over where he could.

The training arena

Fienna fought harder to keep the smile from creeping onto her face, but she continued to swim until she reached the training arena. She swam inside. "Porthos?" she called. "Porthos, are you here?" she asked. But there was no answer. She frowned. "Porthos, I come with an outsider, a surface dweller, for you to train!" she called. Again, no answer. Fienna began to look worried. "Porthos! Porthos! Please answer me! Don't tell me you've disappeared too!" she shouted. She darted into the side house, looking frantically throughout the premises.

She swam out of the house, looking distraught. "He's... he's gone!" she stated. "He's disappeared..." She sighed, looking down at the sea floor. "Now I don't know what to do," she told him. "Porthos was the best swordsman we had... without him, how will you be trained? How will you save our city?"

The oracle's house

Taera smiled when she saw Jonah was all right, and she swam up to him, examining him as she circled around him. "You are uninjured," she told him. "This is good. This is very good. I have never seen such power, especially from a surface dweller. Yes, the touch of magic feels wondrous, and you have the capability to perform great feats of sorcery. Your magical potential almost rivals my own. All you have to do is open your mind and let the power flow through your being. Just imagine what you could be capable of..." Her smile grew wider, and she flicked her tail as she swam in place there. "I may just have to give you personal lessons, Jonah...."

She turned towards Ally. "Now you may grasp the orb. Embrace its power, but be wary because the power siphoned through the orb is incredibly intense...'

Jon

Well, that escalated quickly. Here Jon was, hyped up about his training and next thing he knew, the best swordsman of Atlantis had suddenly 'disappeared', like, *POOF*. No, more than his lack of training coach, isn't the absence of the Captain of the Guard far more important and worrying?

Damnit, Fate, stop screwing around with him!

"Have you checked everything inside? Are there any clues or anything suspicious around?" Jon asked. "People can't simply disappear just like that. There must've been, like, some signs of a fight or struggle or something, at least." Okay, civilians, although unlikely, he could at least see why they wouldn't struggle, or at least, not as much. But this is the head of guard! He has a hard time believing that it would just surrender that easily.

... Unless he got this entirely all wrong and it wasn't something as simple as a kidnapping. Perhaps something pre-planned or, heck, magic exists here, so...

"Can you, like, check traces of magic being used around here recently or something? I refuse to believe that there's absolutely no such leads that could point us to what exactly happened here other than his disappearance." With that said, Jon quickly went into the side house that she just entered to look out for clues. If nothing there, then he expand his search around the premise as well.

Using his crucial investigative insight and clear eye for the smallest details, something that he acquired through his days as a hoax investigator ironically enough, he searched around for any inconsistencies at all around him. Even the smallest out-of-place detail could potentially reveal a lot about it.

Or at least, that's what he's hoping for.

Urm...

"Branded for life like what was, now?"

That didn't sound very okay to me, more like someone combining sentence fragments in a bizarre and only vaguely coherent way after taking a less-than-pleasant blow to the head, or possibly a roofie. Jonah didn't look hurt though, so I supposed I didn't have to worry too much just yet.

Taera instructed me to grasp the same orb. Huh? Did it grant magical ability or was it just part of some underwater hazing ritual? I had missed the memo, but I...felt embarrassed to have to ask. I should have been paying attention, it's part of my job.

"I'm sorry...what?" I asked awkwardly. "I might have missed out on a few details. Sorry, I was distracted."

Jonah had finally calmed down, at least physically. His mind was still a bit frenzied, even with the heart rate and such successfully brought to normal. Having found no obvious burns, Jonah realized that he might have said more than he should have. It wasn't like it was anything illegal or anything, but he didn't feel like sharing his life with these people he had known for a time so short. Hopefully no one would ask about it.

Any worries on the matter were pushed to the back of his mind after the beginning of Taera's praise. It was almost unbelievable that of the three people who went here, at least one was a naturally gifted mage. Even more unbelievable, it was him. Him. Jonah Rock was naturally gifted at something! Was this what he had been searching for his whole life? A talent? Was this his calling? Had he... found it? It had been years since someone told him that he was good at something, and here she was basically saying he was born to be good at this! The recognition actually felt as good as the magical rush he just had.

And private lessons sounded quite useful. Even if he found her enthusiasm a bit creepy, he could look past it. She probably was just thrilled at being able to teach someone so gifted in a subject she was clearly obsessed with. If she was willing to put in effort to help Jonah, then he would just have to try hard so her time would be well spent. Effort must be rewarded, after all. He told Taera "If y-you really want to teach someone like me, then p-please let me learn. I'll try not to l-let you down."

Oh, Ally noticed what Jonah had said about branding. It wasn't a big deal. He would just play it off. It wasn't like she could figure it out without any context on his life. There wasn't anything wrong with telling anyone about grandpa, but he didn't like sharing things like that with someone he barely knew. He just told her "It's nothing to worry about. It's just someone I knew... know." He didn't mean to say knew. Hopefully it was just written off as a slip of the tongue.

Porthos' house

Fienna frowned, but nodded, and followed him into the house. She opened the closet, gasping when a moray eel swam out of the closet, curling up in a nook in the corner of the room. She searched inside the closet for any signs of a struggle. "Hm. I don't know what of this was a struggle and what of this was that eel making itself comfy," she muttered. "I can certainly try to find traces of magic, but my sister has always been the better sorceress of the two of us." She closed her eyes, breathing deeply and moving her hands around the room.

"That's odd..." she muttered. "This whole area is lighting up with magic. But it's magic I'm not familiar with. It's something sinister. Is this what Miss Janet was talking about?"

The room seemed to darken. The eel cowered in the corner. Fienna felt a chill run down her spine as the room seemed to get colder as well. "I don't like the feeling of this," she insisted. A dark tendril lashed towards Fienna suddenly. Fienna screamed and backed up.

Taera's house

Taera smiled. "You won't let me down, Jonah." She looked at Ally once more. "This orb will gauge your affinity for magic. It was so powerful for Jonah because he has some of the strongest magical potential I have ever seen, especially considering he is a surface dweller. How has he never manifested his magic before this point? Is the surface world so dampened of magic that it has faded entirely there?"

She shook her head. "I am getting ahead of myself. We can start you off with a less... intensive method of checking your magical prowess, if that would be preferable to you."

Jon

What th- Is it just him, or is the room starting to become darker and more sinister all of a sudde-

"Look out!" Jon quickly said as he wielded his newly-acquired sword in a two-handed grip. He should've taken the possibility of an ambush or traps into account.

But enough about that! Right now, Fienna's in trouble!

His weapon now on hand, Jon moved quickly in front of Fienna in an effort to intercept and swat the tendril away from them with a quick horizontal slash. Jon may not be trained, but he could at least try to buy more time for them to escape or, failing, act as a temporary cover for the mermaid.

I suppose if Jonah was so intent on not discussing the little 'branding' comment, then now was not the time to pursue it. Still, he had confirmed that the line was no product of mere magic orb shock-induced disorientation, but rather something of substance that I made note to pry into later.

Taera explained that the orb was used to gauge one's affinity for magic, and that its violent reaction to Jonah meant that he had a significant aptitude for it. The fact that he had none despite this mystified her, and she made no secret of the fact.

"Well, pouring some oil into a horseless metal carriage and then driving it 60 miles per hour could be considered 'magic', in a sense. Though I doubt that's what you mean.

"I suppose I could go for something...more obviously safe, since you're offering."

Porthos' house

Fienna winced, swimming back slightly, only to open her eyes and see Jon had dashed in front of her to slash at the dark tendril. The tendril was sliced apart, erupting into a black cloud which started fading into the shadows from which it arrived with a hiss. Fienna muttered under her breath and moved her hands in the direction of the shadows and a brilliant blue light began to emenate from them. As her hands glowed, she began to back out of the house.

Once they were safely out, Fienna looked at him with a worried expression. "I... I am just as surprised here as you were. I thought the dark powers were asleep... has the magic draining from this city awoken them?" she asked. "We must be vigilant... it is getting dark. This City becomes even more dangerous at night. You should return to the surface and speak with Miss Janet," she explained. "Then get some rest. We can continue our search in the morning."

The oracle's house

Taera nodded at Ally's request. "Of course. Jonah, Ally. But it will have to wait until tomorrow. Both of you should head up to the surface again. You will need your strength for the test that lies ahead of you in the morning," she explained.

Well, Jonah was kind of exhausted from the whole experience anyways. A rush like that always left him feeling drained. Deciding to go and rest wasn't even a decision, so he just swam back to the island where this all started. It was clear to him exactly what path he needed to take to get back there, so he didn't bother waiting for Ally.

Jon

Hold up hold up, what's this about dark magic now? Is he eventually going to have to face up against merman warlocks or shamans or demons or something? Fighting gangsters and among fellow warriors is one thing, it's entirely different when the one he's facing is capable of hexing him up, summon minions to deal with him or something.

Ah, screw it. He'll think of ways of how to deal with them when he gets there.

"Phew. And here, I thought I could finally impress you during the training session," he sigh, a bit disappointed in himself. Well, might as well follow Fienna's words and turn up for the night on land.

He nodded. Suffering from a near life-threatening investigation can get rather tiring, unsurprisingly enough "Can do!" He was about to turn up before remembering something. "... Wait, what about you? You sure you can return on your own from here?"

"N-not that I don't think you could handle yourself well, I mean!" he quickly added. "Just thought that you at least might need an escort or something, if these 'dark magics' or those annoying Sea fuc- Dragons," he quickly corrected himself. "Came around and harass you again on your way back,"

Near Porthos' house

Fienna swam up with him, shaking his head. "No, I cannot," she told him. "That is why I will follow you. I have been spending time with Miss Janet anyway, and I want to make sure that she is all right," she explained. "You do not need to try and impress me, Jon," she continued, turning away slightly as she said it. "I know what you mean. The Sea Dragons will not attack me. They have no quarrel with the sister of the oracle. But there are other forces in this city that are not like that. The encounter we had in Porthos' house is a testament to that."

Koryfi Island coastline

As the two surfaced near Koryfi island, they could see Jonah already clambering onto the land. Fienna swam up to the beach and rested gently on the sand just inside the sea, looking at Jon and resting her head on her arms. Dr. Harper was sitting in a nearby tent, typing on her laptop and speaking to an intern. Out of the corner of her eye she noticed the three approaching, and she turned towards them. "Welcome back," she responded. "Where's Ally? She still down in that godforsaken city?" Fienna nodded.

"She is under my sister's protection. There is nothing to worry about," Fienna explained. Dr. Harper crossed her arms, then nodded.

"Well, you kids should tell me what happened down there. You guys look frazzled," Dr. Harper muttered, looking at Jonah especially.

The oracle's house

Taera swam to one of the shelves in the back, took something off of it, and then swam back over to Ally. "I can read your magical aura. It will take longer than using the orb, but it will be far less dangerous. That is why I must insist that you get a nice rest, you will need to be at peak condition for my reading to be accurate. In the meantime, take this," said Taera, dropping a glowing blue stone in her hand, engraved with a runic carving on each side; one that vaguely resembled an ear, and one that vaguely resembled a mouth.

"This is a Tellstone," Taera explained. "You can use it to talk to me at any time. Just put the side with the mouth on it to your face and speak. Then put your ear to the side with the ear and listen. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I will be here if I am needed."

Once he got a safe distance from the water, Jonah took off his amulet and collapsed on the ground. He didn't lose consciousness or anything, he just was taken aback by how hard it was to lift himself up after floating around in the water for so long. When he registered the question, Jonah, still lying down, answered "Well... we got mugged and then realized we were all as combat-ready as the next guy. Which is to say, we were defenseless prey. So then I got magic tested, very painfully might I add, by the oracle and apparently I'm almost her equal in potential or something. It sounds cool, at least. Honestly, I'd rather rest than talk about it right now."

It was true, Jonah was exhausted. He couldn't remember the last time he had such a full day. He was happy to note the return of normal voices, at the least.

Jon

So she'll be following him to Miss Janet. Well, that solves the escort and leaving her on her own to fend for herself problem. Also, it may just be his imagination, but is she looking away from him? He can't tell if that's a good or a bad thing.

With that in mind, he followed after her to the surface, back to where everything began.

Ahhhh, air sweet air! Or rather, holy shit I still have my amulet on sweet air. The moment Jon went above surface, he quickly took off his amulets and placed it in his pockets. He wasn't really fond of feeling literally like fish out of water.

Upon hearing Janet's question, he decided that it would be a good time to tell her what happened recently, adding onto what Jonah had already explained.

"Oh, nothing much. Just having a casual stroll across the mythical kingdom most of the world thought doesn't exist, being told that we're apparently future saviors of said kingdom and got a kickass sword out of the deal while the others have wizardry training from the oracle, got into trouble with a bunch of tryhard fuckers with an overly-cool name, just as he said," he motioned to Jonah. "And, more recently, me and Fienna just got attacked by a bunch of dark magical tentacles from out of freaking nowhere."

He paused, then folded his arms, thinking. "... Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure someone could come up with a dirty joke on that last part."

"But yeah. You know, the usual stuff. Just risking our lives to save Atlantis, really. All in a day's work, I suppose." he concluded, very obviously trying to sound cool at the end.

A. Kikuchi, Departing from Oracle's Chamber.

"I see. Well, tomorrow it is, then. Thanks."

After quickly jotting down what a "Tellstone" was, I packed my things up and, waving goodbye, swam out of the chamber and up in the direction of where I saw the dock.

I mulled a bit, on how we who live on the surface had spent the past few decades looking up to the stars for new worlds, when in fact there had been one beneath us this whole time. Funny that. Though, why did it take so long...?

Oh! I'd almost forgot. I took the Sound Stone...ahem, Tellstone, back out and tested it out.

"Hey! Just making sure this thing works. Hey, while I have this out, could I contact other people through it if I wanted? Might be useful to know later. Thanks."

I then put the receiver, so to speak, against my ear to listen for a reply, still swimming up to the dock.

Nearby Koryfi Island

Taera's voice echoed inside Ally's head. "Normally these stones only contact the other one, that I happen to possess. With a bit more enchanting I can attune the tellstone to Fienna and your friends," she explained. "If that is indeed what you were going to use them for."

Koryfi Island Base Camp

Dr. Harper frowned. "I told you it was dangerous down there. I warned as much in my letter. Gangs, evil tentacles... that's— actually, that's about what I expected," she replied in a deadpan voice. Fienna looked at her.

"Are you sure you can't come down and help us further, Miss Janet?" she asked, eyes widened. Dr. Harper shook her head.

"The answer's still no, Fienna dear," Dr. Harper replied, looking over the two men. She raised an eyebrow at Jonah's statement about his magical prowess. "Well, if a mermaid oracle told me I had magical power I wouldn't be the one to argue. But fair enough. You all can go get some rest in the tent over there. I'll be up at sunrise, as usual," she explained.

Fienna looked up at Dr. Harper. "And what will you be doing, Miss Janet?" she asked. Dr. Harper scratched her chin. "Still trying to put together the puzzle of the disappearing people. Any of you kids see anything weird while you were down there? Y'know, besides dark evil tentacles."

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.

Jon

"Apart from that? Hmm, well..," Jon stopped for a moment, thinking back. "Maybe this is just me, but Porthos, the Captain of the Guard, is apparently missing in his home when me and Fienna came around to fetch him. What's weird about it is that there's apparently no sign of any struggle no matter where we looked. No overturned furniture, no dents anywhere, at least as far as I can tell, nothing. Just an eel that we found hiding away in Porthos' closet."

"Fienna also said something about sensing dark, sinister magic at work there. Magic that she can sense but aren't familiar, so it's either some sort of forbidden type of magic being at work here or this is the work of a very powerful sorcerer. Potentially both."

Wait a minute. Now that they were in the clear and safe, there was something about what the mermaid said that made him curious. He turned towards Fienna.

"You mentioned something about dark powers being asleep. Well, now that we're safe, comfy and all," he stretched his arms before eventually sitting down on the sandy beach to rest his legs. Man, what a day!

"I've been meaning to ask what do you mean by that,"
