What are the limitations, if any, of the items that we start out with?
I'd probably veto most things that would break the game right now. Other powerful items would probably have some restrictions based on what they are. Some of the items should be reasonable given you're a castaway, but not all of them have to be.

>I awaken, and check me five items.
>Jack Sparrow's compass, sword, survival guide for boys, grappling hook similar to Mabel's, and a Nanotrasen HUD scouter similar to Dragon Ball Z, cept it's not meant for power gauging.
May I ask what the survival book contains? I know everyone's gonna be Genre Savvy but this seems like a bit much
Just basic survival tips for idiots.
>wake up
>groggily check phone (my first item)
she magnificent my bastard till i complete on her monsterHey everyone, I'm bumping this for now to see who all is still here, but I'll have an actual post up by tomorrow
still here
jk updating now
@Bacon Zorp: You wake in the branches of a tree, with six of your items with you in your bag, one of which is your room key. Lucky you! If you sit up from your current position, you can see the boat only a few feet away from you. It seems to be beached, and a lot of the trees near it seem to be knocked over or bent. There seems to be a body on the deck of the boat, and a few others are on the shore to its side.
You recall something about a strong wind, and strong currents, though specifics seem a bit hazy.
@Cyber: Your survival instincts wake you up instantly and let you know that you are hungry. All you have with you is your bag containing your room key and five other items. Looking around, you seem to be on some kind of shore. To your left, is the ship. It seems like it's sunken into the sand a little bit.
In front of you is the shore. You see a smaller boat drifting in the waves by the shore. There might be somebody inside, but you aren't sure. Behind it are miles of sea and nothing else beyond the horizon.
To your left are a few crabs poking at one of the other castaways and their bag. They seem like they might also be waking up. Hmm. Crabs are edible, right?
If you were to look behind you, you would see a forest. You could also try looking in there for food.
@Chianticat: You wake up in your room, Number 103. Sunlight peeks in through your window, giving you enough light to see where you're going. You instinctively grab your phone first. Your phone is at 80% and says that it is 9:28 AM. You also grab your precious Pokeball, which is conveniently near the bag containing the rest of your items.
@Whizzerd: You wake up in your room, Number 212. Your window seems to have a noticeable crack in it, but other than that nothing seems out of the ordinary. Well, except for the unfamiliar beach outside your window. You have an ominous feeling like you've done this before. Weird.
At the foot of your bed is your bag of five items plus your room key.
@Cathari: You wake up to the feeling of something pinching at you. When you awaken, you find a few crabs near you. One of them has just pinched at your finger, but most of them seemed to be interested in your bag.
Looking around, it would seem that you're on some kind of beach. To your left is the sea, with a small boat drifting close to the shore. You think you can see a person in the small boat. To your right is a forest, though you see a spot where it's noticeably less thick. Ahead of you is a bit more beach. Behind you is the ship you were on last night. You see a few other castaways on the beach between you and the ship, some of which seem to be awake.
@Random: You wake up in your room, 113. Your bag still seems intact, with your five items inside. inventory
@Afterwards: You wake up and immediately grab for your phone. You check it and see that your batter is about halfway dead and the time is currently 9:28 AM. Huh. You usually sleep in longer than that. After shifting around, you realize you are not laying in your bed but a small boat. You get the weirdest sense of déjà vu from this information. Luckily, you have your bag of things with you, including your room key.

Long live the New Bev.>Alrighty, time to check the decks.
>Exit room, and begin searching other rooms, rifling through people's possessions and stuff.
"Ow."
> Wrest bag from the crabs.
> Bag contains the following items: Swiss Army Knife, Lighter, Portable Coffee Mug, Painkillers (100 pills), iphone.
> If and once that's done, walk over to the boat where others may or may not be gathering.

>now pray to the dark gods for signal and text alex first

>>Medical kit

>>A pocket knife, which is weird because I didn't bring one

>Leave room. Might want to come back here to sleep, so I'll lock it for now just in case.
>Head towards the upper deck. If I hear the sounds of other people moving around then I change course towards them instead.
It should be "Whizzerd [in their room]" instead of "[his room]" btw :v
they/them || "Forgive me, regent of queer amphibians" - Lt.BGob@Bacon. You climb out of the tree and run towards the boat. There seems to be a conveniently-placed rope ladder on the side of it, so you climb up it to the front of the boat. From here you can see that the Captain's Room on Deck 7 has its windows broken, and there is an unconscious body on the deck not too far from you. Not long after you arrive, Cathari Sarad also climbs up to this spot.
@Random: You exit your room. Most of the other rooms seem to be locked, and you can't seem to use your own room key card to get into them. You think you hear something from inside room 109 when you check it though. There's also a dining area and the lobby that you could check out. The deck above you leaves to the outer bow, along with a few other facilities. Whizzerd comes up to your current deck.
@Cathari: The crabs skitter away from your bag as you lift it up. A few crabs latch on to your bag but after a few good shakes then learn their place and abandon ship.
You head over to the boat, where there is a rope ladder that leads up to the outer front. There seem to be a trail of footprints leading from the ladder into the forest, and different pair that seems to have come from in front of the boat. You see Bacon Zorp on the outer deck when you climb up there, as well as what appears to be an unconscious body. If you look around from the ship, you can see that the windows of the Captain's Room on Deck 7 are broken.
@Afterwards: You notice that your phone does not have a signal, so the most logical thing would be to pray to the dark gods. You suddenly feel a strange presence, and hear a powerful voice inside of your head.
The presence then disappears before you can butt in any further. Your phone picks up a signal. You send Alex a text but he doesn't seem to respond immediately.
@Whizzerd: You go up a deck and you see Random searching the main hallway. There's also the lobby and a small dining area nearby. You're pretty sure most of the outer deck is on the floor above you.
you guys are no fun :P

>Wait, better check for a breakfast buffet!

>KNOCK ON DOOR #109

>Pose weirdly seductively cooly.
It was a dark and stormy night on the cruise. But now, you're not sure where you are, mostly because you aren't awake right now. You might as well wake up. Or don't. Your choice.
Think of this as a spiritual reboot of Marooned. It's still your usual forum adventure game where you are you and everyone plays as separate characters instead of everyone suggesting commands for one or a few characters.
Your character has crashed on an island along with many other passengers from a cruise you can hardly remember. Your goal is to survive the island. Maybe you want to look for a way off, or maybe you want to establish your own society on the island. Maybe you just want to wander around aimlessly. You can do nearly whatever you want here. After all, who's gonna stop you on an island away from the rest of the world? Rules
