Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite

In retrospect. Mv Ci should've added Nero and Leon.

Leak sounds fake as fuck. If anyone thinks they would add a bunch of new fighters and not have any of them be more MCU characters, they're dreaming.

Or Ada. I can see why they didn't include Nero. Might not have wanted to spoil his new appearance or use a soon-to-be-outdated model of him when they hadn't announced DMC 5 yet. Plus, had the game done well enough to justify continued support, they could've sold DMC 5 Nero as DLC down the line.

Would Nero's model being outdated be an issue? They used Dante's DMC 3 appearance and that's much older than Nero's original look.

DMC 4 Nero would've been fine. Mv Ci could've used Dm C (besides a costume)Dante but I guess Capcom didn't care.

They used Dante's DMC 3 appearance again because as we've established, Capcom consists of lazy fucks. If they were gonna take the time to come up with a brand new character model and moveset for Nero, I imagine it'd be based on the version of Nero who has a new game coming out.

And honestly, I prefer the DMC 1/DMC 4 look for Dante.

I think I prefer Dante with a shirt on, lol.

DMC 1 Dante with Rebellion is my favourite look for him (Never been a big fan of Force Edge being his default when he's in that outfit, although him using Alastor with it is fine) next to DMC 4. DMC 3 Dante is supposed to be when he's a cocky asshole teenager. Although I imagine they picked DMC 3 Dante since it allowed him to use the weapons from that game for the most variety.

Plus the Mr. Fanservice appeal.

I'm not following what you're saying here. You think a controversial character being in an already controversial game would be good idea. When they already announce him as DLC alt Dino was still a controversial choice

For this game sure, but not when it came Monster Hunter World or RE 7. Why is it that no one ever remembers those games?

I was under the impression it was because DMC 3 is the most critical acclaim game out of all them

Don't think they should've put Dino just think Capcom could've if they really wanted. See: Playstation Allstar Battle :p

So the leaker who correctly called Smash Bros Ultimate claims that the earlier reports of Ms. Marvel, Wolverine, Magneto, Storm, Captain Commando, Asura, Rashid and the others were true, but that they've been scrapped due to the poor response to the game overall.

Sure, and they were totally going to have all the MCU actors reprise their roles, but the game reception squashed that.

FYI Vergeben is full of shit. He never claimed that the entire roster was coming back despite his source having access to the E3 booth, and he said Konami would announce a Castlevania collection on Switch.

He made some lucky guesses about popular returning characters and if they hadn't gotten in he would have come up with some other excuse like he is now.

You realize most fighting games just... stop getting supported once that happens, right? They don't make some big formal event out letting customers know the product they paid for isn't getting new content.

Some devs will confirm it, especially if they've supporting something for a long while, but others just let the game fade away until the next one comes out, assuming the previous iteration was successful.

Which this game was not.

You're really going to tell me that neither Capcom or Marvel couldn't have just said "production for MVC:I has stop" on their Twitter in the last 7 months? It never had to be a huge announcement to begin with.

Well. So much for a resurgence...but then again, with the abysmal reception the game got, would anyone be looking forward to any updates in the first place?

Not to mention, this makes that "Infinite" subtitle all the more ironic.

At any rate, they'd probably have better luck starting from scratch, but I guess that won't happen. Again, because of how bad MvC: I turned out.

I think even if they didn't take too much of a loss from the low budget of the game, the loss of trust and reputation, money from eSports and the burning of one of their most beloved franchises was much more severe.

That's true. Even if they made a profit from the budget being rock-bottom, it's more akin to a Pyrrhic Victory.

Speaking of people, there's way too many people giving MVC 3 too much credit. By no means was it bad, but it wouldn't call it nearly as a good as people are making it out to be

Given the way they treated Infinite, this game should have never existed. They didn't learn a god damn thing from MVC 3
