Now that she thought about it, Leith didn't know exactly why the equine had decided to show up at her door. From Patrick's account, it seemed to be something of a mean-spirited prank on the horse's part. But Patrick had been looking for a home, so perhaps...
She paused again. She knew it'd be rude not to ask Goat if he was also doing okay, and she cared a little more about etiquette online than in real life. But she'd thought the same thing when asking Patrick and that hadn't ended well. Perhaps something more specific would have less chance of backlash...
"Akinloye. But most people 'round here call me Erebi." She took his hand and shook, her grip strong and warm. "Couldn't just leave someone inna dirt like that."
She greeted Lark with a smile as she came in, which grew amused at the siren's request to experiment. "Y'know I always love anything with fruit. Clear it with the other chef, don't make anything too messy... and not too pricey either, our budget's a lil' tight this month, and I'll give you the go ahead."
"And if you could put up this gentleman, save us the hassle of askin' around..." Erebi's smile widened a little. "Well, that'd be strawberry on the sorbet. Why don't you take him upstairs, chat a little while you get ready for work?"

Patrick furrowed his brow, stunned someone else had offered him a place to stay. "Um....okay, I guess?" He stood up from his chair, and held out his hand to the new girl. "I'm Patrick. And your are?" He was confused as to why this girl was writing everything out instead of speaking. He could see she had wings, but was she like an angel or something?

Seawell sighed in relief. But he decided not to voice his concern to the girl.
AraneusDownfall: What have you been doing today?
OldGoat: Eh, the usual. Went to Cornelia's to see if she can make me some new corduroys, the old ones wore out. Then I went shopping for groceries, then logged on and here I am.
OldGoat: I see you're at the library. Anything good to read there?

Lark, Library
Lark rocked onto her toes in a clear YES! gesture, before deflating a little when Erebi mentioned clearing it with the other chef. She perked up again just as quickly, mainly because if she really wanted, getting the other chef to agree would be easy. She then smiled at Patrick, taking his hand.
-Nice to meet you Patrick. I'm Lark.-
She then seemed a little distracted for a second, mouthing a couple of words note before breaking out of it, waving to Erebi and going upstairs.

Marcus looked slightly overwhelmed by the torrent of questions, but did his best to answer. "Uh, I think they released a new album recently. And the situation with monsters here is...adequate. For now at least. There's some tension, but no riots."
"Can you interact with objects?" He asked Henry. "I could give you something to block the sun if you can." To prove his point, Marcus snapped his fingers, and a compact umbrella appeared

Patrick gasped as he was dragged away by Lark. "Um....okay, Lark, may I ask what you are exactly? And why are you writing stuff down instead of talking?"

Lark paused, mouthed an "oh" before dragging Patrick downstairs where she had left the groceries. Picking up the groceries and left unable to write with her hands full, she responded. Her voice was very melodious, almost as if she was singing instead.
"I'm a siren. And I write instead of talking because my voice has...interesting effects on people."
Having said that, she then dragged Patrick upstairs again.

Patrick blinked when he heard her voice. He gulped a bit, and ran a hand on his neck, making sure it was still in place. "Ah...well, I think I know what does to people," he chuckled softly. Her voice was indeed beautiful, maybe the most beautiful thing he had ever heard. He felt drawn to her now. He kept pace with her as she dragged him back upstairs. "Want some help with those?" he asked, gesturing to the groceries.
The horse suddenly perked, and snorted angrily. It began pacing outside, snorting and bellowing. Patrick winced.

"Good, good," Henry said, smiling. "I mean, I'm no fan of tension, but I can work with that. But-" he frowned "- No, I can't touch anything. It's..." he clenched his fists and sighed. "Very frustrating. Hell, I can't even so much as make a leaf fall. And believe me, I've tried."
He paused for a second, running his hand through his hair. Another pointless gesture, as he couldn't feel it, nor did his hair actually move. "I was actually going to go into town tonight to see if anyone could help. I mean, not being able to go in light or touch things sorta sucks. So, like, if you know anybody...?"

Marcus crossed his arms and frowned as he thought about the Ghost's words. "Well...I could try and cast a spell to make you tangible." He began slowly. "Magic like that is possible for Jinni to cast. But I've only been one for around half a year, so I'm not very good at magic. No guarantee it'll work."
"Option 2 would be to see if there's a witch or fairy in this town who's willing to help. What do you think?"
Northern Outskirts, Forest
"Jinni, huh?" Henry gave the man another once over. "I.... Nah. I mean, being a Jinni is pretty cool, but if you're not experienced completely, then I don't want to take any chances. I mean, no offence or anything."
He turned towards the town, his eyes cast downward to avoid the light. "But it's still a bit bright out, so I can't go in, not just yet. Even once the sun goes down I'll have to be careful about lamps and stuff. But..." he perked up slightly. "Maybe you could help? Like, just sorta guide me? I'm a bit rusty around town, what with me being out here for a few months..."

That reminded Leith that she had plans to get in contact with the monster called Cornelia- spidersilk, she had found, was a versatile product, and perhaps one that the local fashion businesses would be interested in. Not that she desperately needed the money, but it could help towards monsters in need of more flexible threads. Speaking of...
Erebi waved the two monsters off (and quirked an eyebrow when Lark promptly reappeared to pick up the groceries) before returning to her station at the front desk. Things to plan, books to sort.

Lark went to hand Patrick some of the groceries, but they were already at the second floor, so she instead placed them on the counter. Pulling out the pad again, she looked at Patrick to see if was alright. He had winced.
-Are you okay?-

Patrick shook his head, raising his hand. "No! It's fine, honest,", he said, though there seemed to be a line across his neck. It was faint, but it almost seemed like his neck was severed, and had been reattached.

That brought a chuckle out of Seawell. Once he would have scoffed at mythology, but now they were living proof that it was real. Hmm, maybe he should read more on myths himself, he wondered.
AraneusDownfall: You are a satyr, correct? Is it difficult to buy new clothes?
OldGoat: A faun he corrected her, not that he really minded. And not really. Well, except for shoes, they don't really make them for hooves . I make do by tying tennis to my feet. I don't *need* them, except to pass for human. That and a hat.
OldGoat: Hey, let me know about any books on monsters in the library. Especially if they deal with events after The Change, OK?

Cornelia's Shop
"Oh, Charlies is hiring," Jack piped up. "They're real monster friendly, and they'll probably hire you as a waitress."
"I'm not sure if they need a muscian, but it'd be asking about- they don't mind non-humans, as long as you can actually do the work. I doubt they'd hire someone without arms to wash dishes, obviously."

Roisin's face broke out into a grin. "Thanks! What's the address?"

Well, something was up with Patrick. But he didn't want to tell her, so she let it be. Moving around the counter, she flipped through a (surprisingly) large pile of signs, leaving a particular one open, but not displayed. Then she pulled out a mobile, and dialling a number called the other chef.
"Hello?"
"Yes its me."
"I was wondering if we could consider changing the menu."
"But the season is changing."
"Yes, I cleared it with Erebi."
"Please?"
"Yes!"
"Thank you. See you later."
That done, she properly displayed the sign note , and begun to chop and cook.

Cornelia gave a nod "I hope this works for you." She thought for a bit "If it doesn't work out... well you could play in front of my store to get some customers for me, I'd pay you for that of course." The centaur gave a light smile.

Patrick just took a seat somewhere nearby, observing Lark cooking. He could hear her talking before she started. She really did have a beautiful voice.
More snorting and bellowing from the horse, and Patrick winced.

She took a moment after that to reread his message, certain her eyesight was messing with her again. No, it didn't appear to be that. Maybe it was a term she was unfamiliar with.
AraneusDownfall: I will.
OldGoat: Thanks.
AraneusDownfall: Tying "tennis" to your feet..?
OldGoat: Yeah. You know, tennis shoes? Sneakers? LOL sorry if I am being an old hipster.

Cornelia's Shop
"Uh... 5031, Hale Street," Jack recalled. "Oh! Yeah, playing for you would probably be a good fit, too," he agreed. "Your shop is really nice," he told the Centaur. He meant it, too- it was really cool. Most people when they thought of shops, didn't think of this kind of thing.

Roisin grinned ear to ear. "Thanks, to both of you! I'll be sure to stop by if the bar doesn't work out."
She pecked Jack on the cheek. "Don't be a stranger."
With a wave to Cornelia, the banshee exited the shop.
After going inside, she sat down at the bar, placing her guitar case on the ground next to her. "Nice place you have," she commented to the bartender. "How long have you worked here?"
Cornelia's Shop
"I don't suppose you could recommend a place that'd be hiring a musician or the like?" Roisin asked. "Or maybe a waitress or something? I'm new in town and I'm not exactly rolling in dough."
