I'm starting to think that this may need a two-panel pic for full context. That said, I don't have a problem with the Predator pic.

I don't have a problem with the Predator pic. What mostly makes it clear to me is that dark line at his throat, and the random blue lights.
The suggestion seems less clear to me. There's less of a suggestion it's not just partial invisibility.

Predator in water is 7 points in the green; the 2nd place alternative is a point in the red. May as well go with predator in water.

I'd like to challenge the current crowner suggestion
for the trope. Not sure how the scene plays out but in the frame suggested the alien is half visible anyway, so the flickering FX is not needed to help locate its position. Suggesting shots from Forbidden Planet: [1]
