Dear Students of Ufufu Witch Academy,

So the month of Ramoctober has come around once more, and once more that the land of Fafaleh will be overrun by spirits and monsters for a variety of reasons: Hell has temporarily release their souls to do their regular maintenance, experiments by high students gone wrong, extra dimensional creatures exploring our land, etc. Whether they may be peaceful or violent, making an effort to blend into the locals or purposefully stand out, it is our duty, as witches, to make sure that the otherworldly beings are able to traverse and explore our lands safely and keep them in check.

And yes, that means you guys get to dress up in costume, a signature point of culture in the month of spooks originally meant to allow the otherworldly to feel more welcome and comfortable to our world. Feel free to dress up as any beings you like with all the creativity with you, within tasteful reasons, of course.

Remember that while this is the time to let yourself go and mingle, remember your peacekeeping duty, for it is very essential for this semester’s grading. Do not forget to start working on your end of the year projects, they can make or break your GPA. While this may be your first year and the deadline seems too far to be stressing over it now, it may do you good to start thinking about it now.

Good spooks to you, students, and have fun.

Signed, Master Witch Yasmeen Bousaid and Head Nun Jennifer Bousaid

Hey guys, welcome to the Ufufu Witch Academy signup sheet, where you’ll be playing as witch students celebrating the Month of Spooks, you know, October, in a fantasy world in the middle of an magical industrial revolution. You’ll be experiencing this already magical world at its weirdest. I’m planning to make this a semi-sandbox RP, meaning, you get to fuck around and ignore the events, but I’m going to base this game on a storyline. If you guys do not solve the event when the time limit hits, it will have consequences later on.

You guys will be playing as year one students who have access to a witch’s basic abilities, though perhaps more if you study hard enough at the library or maybe you’ll learn something by yourself when you explore. Spells are mainly dictated by these two spellcasting disciplines.

Basic understanding of the Necronomicon and magic based on it
  • Mainly calls from dark matter invisible to human eyes
  • The base book actually only covers necromancy and anything else related to the dead as far as practical magical goes, but it goes with much greater detail into parallel universes, the unseen, the beyond, etc, albeit in a very strange written language and with accompanying spooky images
  • It is very, very flexible, as it forms a basis for most of the spells been used right now involving the control of fire, water, ice, etc by manipulating the dark matter to perform simpler tasks compared to the demanding effort of necromancy.
     Basic understanding of Marsa’s Books
Mainly calls its power from holy books and light Originally made to save holy paper and make the pages more interactive like this world’s equivalent of a very basic tablet, the nuns broke their promises on keeping it simple and engineered their books more than that. At first it was to compete against the Necronomicon and dissuade people from using it, but the nuns’ ambition soon took over their old morals. You have to set the spell permanently on the spell pages. While the witches consider it very finicky and inflexible, nuns say that the actual spells become quick and easy to pull off, and way less tiring. As long as you check for mistakes on your pages beforehand, you rarely get any glitches in your magic. It does, however, requires the nun to carry a book around plus light to carry out the spells, regardless of what the spell is. While most nuns recommends to get sun light for spellcasting, any sort of light works as well, the more intense the better. Do note that lights that are generated by lightricity does NOT work.

Here’s what we can assume your characters have learned so far:

  • Basic Necro-elemental (fire, water, earth, air)
  • Restoration(healing and shit)
  • Alchemy(chemistry and shit)
  • Physical education(Yes, even witches need to be fit)
  • History(Those who don’t know their history blah blah blah)
  • Physics(mainly two things, the manipulation of such like levitation or broom riding and lightricity and how it travels along wires and * how to calculate voltage, resistance and power and open/closed circuit shit)
  • Magical craftsmanship(making your own minions or tools, basically)
  • Materials(while you only learn how to make holy paper for the most part of the year, you guys have finally began on how to enchant the real stuff like armor or weapons)

And here’s the history of magic:

     NECRONOMICON

Where the necronomicon was found

The book was originally found in an archaeological site in Nazzaritan Vast Desert where an ancient civilization once stood More specifically, it was a humble village where most of the buildings were made of sandstone. Except unlike any other village sites, this one looks like it was destroyed, not by war or riots, but by something entirely different, like an extraterrestrial plague. It’s saying something when an endless hole in the middle of the town was the least worrying thing about it—with corpses being half eaten, corpses being half transformed into monsters, and buildings melted into substances that are still unknown to this day. The most significant finding, however, was the book itself, in a humble home nearby the hole, with a skeleton hung in a noose next to it.

How the necronomicon was re-utilized

The book itself is a mere documentation of what the author(s?) have learned from, as what it called, the indescribable being. While the top cryptographers are still working out on how the rest of the book goes since it suddenly changed from Nazzaritan to a strange new language one quarter into the book alongside many clues the book isn’t even finished, the stuff that was revealed was astronomical in the magic industry. Mainly, how to manipulate dark matter to do your bidding with calls to beyond.

One of the institutions that excels at breaking boundaries is this very academy actually, though back then it was merely a lonesome tower outside of the city because plebs were, and sometimes still are, cautious of magic, especially the types that fondle the unknown. We spearheaded the revolution of basically everything that’s got to do with the necronomicon, one way or another.

     Marsa’s Books

How it’s made

Marsa’s Books were originally made to appease the druids centuries back during the Tree Prohibition era. At the time, the druids were a majority at Aristozah, the neighbouring country of Fafaleh, and banned the whole lumber industry, including the paper industry, which was pretty shitty for the Union of Marsa considering that they have a lot of things to say in print, and they’re in desperate need to spread the word of Marsa.

Marsa heard their plea and blessed them with knowledge by possessing the master nun and had her frantically create the holy book and pages with one hand while also quickly writing it down on a regular paper on the other. It resulted in a book with only a single page, but containing all of Marsa’s blessed words. To turn a page, one would have to swipe the page left and right.

The drudic government declared it a masterpiece of magically engineering and commended them on their accomplishments. All the more ironic when the Union of Marsa overthrew the government during one of the most violent and brutal revolutions ever recorded in history, but that’s another story.

Expansion and Competition

Once the bloody revolution was over, the nuns put down their weapons and declared that blood shall never be spilled for Marsa again. That’s what the newly installed Marsa government said anyway. What could be the contributing factor was the fact that the Necronomicon was slowly getting popular in Fafaleh by the time the revolution was over, and they were scared shitless of its power.

The nuns then came up of an idea of changing up their pages to win the people over to the correct path. Long story short, it sort of grew out of hand, and the nuns were too blinded by their ambition and dreams to realize that they were supposed to preach about Marsa too. The rise of Marsa’s Books sparked a competitive spirit in the witches as well. The only reason that they have not been at each other’s throat is because both sides were scared shitless of their military power even outside of their magical pioneering. This has resulted in both countries having a magic-punk industrial revolution with nobody putting money into the military. No longer would you have to manually light up a candle with matches or bring around a heavy book, what a time to be alive.

     Current Events
Be blessed that you guys will be a part of the integration of the necronomicon and Marsa’s Books. As well as the marriage between the masters. You guys may not actively participate in the studies yet but one day, if you study hard enough, you’ll be able to change the world.

And with all that being said, here’s your signup sheet:

  • Name:
  • Age: while the witch academy age progression is basically the same as a regular secondary school, it’s still open to all ages. And those who need to repeat a year, as well
  • Gender: F, of course, this is a witch academy after all! The wizard school’s over at the capital.Or you can be M but you must be very sneaky about it and have to ‘convince’ the staff that you are a girl. If you do pick this, PM me and just leave this one as F
  • Description: What do you look like and what do you wear. By default, your uniform should be a black cloak and either a witch hat for the witch class or the nun headdress for the Marsa class. You can wear a jacket over it if you want and you can wear anything outside of the school grounds, but wear anything else within school grounds or alter the uniform and you better hope that the staffs won’t catch your ass.
  • Strength/Weakness: Some are better than others at one subject, basically they are able to that one thing that they are good at with relative ease and able to do something beyond the basics, yet they are also weaker than others at another subject, barely able to get to the passing grade or in some cases, not at all. In other words, state what subject what you’re good at and what special ability that you can do but you also have to get a weakness and state how are you failing at the subject. You can have as many strengths as you like but you have to bring in the equivalent amount of weakness. Of course, this is optional, you can go for jack for all trade, master of none.
  • How do you cast your magic: For necronomicon users, it’s usually either weird poses and breathing or items including but not limited to staff and wands. The former is better for casting spells onto yourself or your immediate surrounding, the latter is better for spell accuracy over medium and long range. For Marsa’s Books users, they will have a number of spells that can’t be modified whatsoever. Do note that pages that are meant for spellcasting takes a couple of months to be completed and usable due to it being very strict on personal optimization, so you guys will basically be limited in page numbers, so make them count.
  • Skills: This is for anything unrelated to magic
  • Relationships: You can fill in this later once more people are pouring in.This is somewhat important since I’m gonna start the RP a week before Ramoctober, not orientation.
  • Backstory: Don’t be afraid to flesh out this world of ours but I won’t accept lores that would be too out of place. Nothing too edgy or wack.
